Date: December 31st 2010 and January 1st 2011
Time: 11:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.Lincoln, Lincolnshire UK, December 31st 2010 and January 1st 2011. Same sightings! First was around 11:00pm and then again around 1:00a.m. There were two clear red/orange lights, quite low down, but not low enough to make out any detail. I doubt they were helicopters because they made no noise. Nor were they planes as the movement, shape, distance and colour suggested otherwise.
I managed to look at one of them through binoculars when I got home, but again couldn’t make out detail except for a small, cone-shaped orange glow. They changed direction and speed, though they never moved fast. They might have been hot-air balloons, but the light was steady, not the kind of flickering effect you see in flames. As I watched, they slipped away into the south-east. To quote Spock – fascinating.
