Location of Sighting: Elland West Yorkshire UK.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 3
Shape of Objects: Round.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was just about to draw our bedroom curtains and a bright orange light caught my eye coming straight towards our house from the west. After watching it get nearer for about 10-15 seconds, it changed it’s path heading north. As it turned, another object that was identical appeared following the same path.
At this moment I shouted my wife who came dashing into the room and experienced this too. To both our amazement a third object of the same description followed. They all covered the same path and eventually disappeared one by one.
The whole experience lasted about 2 minutes. There was no sound and the flight path looked very smooth. The speed of the objects seemed much faster than a usual aircraft. My wife tried to take a photo, but the last object disappeared before she got chance. The sky was very clear and lots of stars were visible.

Boomerang Shaped Object Over Littleover Derby UK
Date: October 30, 2010
Time: 10:45 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Littleover Derby UK.
Number of witnesses: 4
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Boomerang.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: I went outside to let my dog out when I saw and orange glow in the sky, it was falling towards the ground slowly and I thought it was a large firework. My wife said it could have been a flare, we watched it falling slowly when it suddenly stopped and started to fly away quite quickly towards north west.
My wife had taken a picture and when we looked at it, it wasn't orange but silver. 10 -15 minutes later we were going to bed when I looked out of the window and saw it again, we ran down stairs and as my neighbors lights were on, so I told them to come and look as well. It flew towards us then stopped and flew away again there was no sound, my wife took 2 more picture and if you zoom in it was clearly boomerang shape.
If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Bright Orange Objects Over Belfast Northern Ireland
Date: October 31, 2010
Time: Approx: 5:25 p.m.Hi Brian, last night 31 October 2010 as I was waiting at the bus stop on the Antrim road ("17:25") I looked to the sky and saw a large bright orange object flying across the sky which seemed to be burning. I based this off as some type of firework or balloon at first, but then 5 minutes later, when I saw another one, I began to become suspicious.
As I only moved to Belfast from the south last month, when I saw the object moving in an unconventional way, "zig zag". I began to think it was some type of RAF aircraft of the likes. I then went to work and finished there at "(23:00") and as I came home with my partner, I saw another one and showed it to her, she passed it off as fireworks as she is not a believer.
I then stayed in the front garden for an hour until about ("00:30") I saw 6 more of these objects moving in basically the same direction except one which was moving in the opposite direction for some time and then changed direction. Because I only moved up here, I’m not sure about compass directions. I have been searching the net for the past hour for other witnesses and came across your blog http://worldufos.blogspot.com/2010/10/unmanned-hot-air-balloon-over-belfast.html
I would like to know if you or anyone else seen this? This is my second possible sighting, so I’m hoping its not Hot air balloons! :) Best regards.

Orange Lights Over Dublin Ireland
Date: October 30 and 31, 2010
Time: Evening.Hi Brian, my name is (name removed). On 30th October 2010 I was driving on Cabra Street D7 and I saw an orange big light, it was to big for a plane or helicopter, it was just above Navan Street. After about 10 minutes it disappeared. Later on I saw two of them coming from City Center to Phoenix Park direction.
Today is 31st of Oct and I finished my work at 10:00pm. Me and my boyfriend saw two lights flying from Phoenix Park side to City Centre. Then I saw one more just over St Patrick's Church flying to city center direction.
This reminds me when I was a child 13 years old I saw something very similar in my home country. It was 11:00pm and I saw two round shape yellow or orange very big lights flying together very fast like they were playing with each other. I never saw some thing like that in my life. But seeing sow many lights over Dublin is wired. I hope I helped you a bit.

3 Orange Globes Of Light Over Stretford In Manchester UK
Date: October 30, 2010
Time: Approx: 7:00 p.m.Would just like to post that I saw exactly the same 3 globes of orange light in the sky last night, however they were travelling over Stretford in Manchester at around 7:00pm last night. They were just as described in the sighting in Dublin. The colour of fire and travelling in a straight line.
I was in my car at the traffic lights and unfortunately didn't have enough time to clear some space on my phone before the traffic lights changed to green. It was very strange though. I didn't hear the usual sounds that accompany aircraft such as a helicopter and they were far too low in the sky to be an aero plane.

Bright Orange Light Over Northwich UK
Date: October 2, 2010 (other sightings the same also seen by this witness)
Time: 7:27 p.m.Hello, just thought I would add a bit to this story I saw posted on http://worldufos.blogspot.com/ title of post in Subject bar.
Here's what I have to say about the orange lights anyway. I have seen them 3 times over a period of 3 months. The last sighting was at 19:27 Sat 02/10/10. I too like the guy who posted on the blog was out in my back garden having a smoke (tobacco), I watch the sky all the time when I go out for one, anyway 1 orange light out of nowhere appeared. I mean from out of the black, it did not come from any direction just appeared and the second came seconds after.
The lights where the same colour as orange street lights on the road and they were slightly pulsing. They then, staying at what looked to be the same altitude, headed west pretty slowly and then they disappeared from sight behind buildings in my street. I didn't see them vanish. I posted on Yahoo answers about this and people came back with the general "It's a Chinese lantern" but why would a Chinese lantern head west when on that day the wind was heading in a easterly direction?
Where I live I see alot of airplanes going into land at Manchester airport. This was no plane but the flight path was smooth just like one.
The previous times I have seen them was In Livingston (also quite near an airport (Edinburgh airport), West Lothian, Scotland can't remember the date, but it was late July when I first saw it and then I saw it again mid August. The first time my mate was driving me home after going round to my other mates house. Didn't drink, we were on a road called Bankton Road when in-between the streetlights above the road hovering about a meter above the lights was an orange light.
We passed underneath it and had to go round a round about, we then looked back at where we first saw it and this thing flew and I mean fast heading east towards Edinburgh way. It was about the size of a Frisbee. The second time it was just hovering above a forest near Adambrae Parks where I used to live also in Livingston. I saw it for 30 seconds ish, I was in a car and lost it for a minute or so when passing some trees when I looked back up at it, it was gone.
Every time it has been the exact same light no differences, slightly pulsing. My little brother who was sleeping in the conservatory that night at the 2nd sighting in Livingston. Heard aviation noises, he said like a helicopter. I don't get it to be honest and to see this 3 times this year, after seeing nothing like it in my life. Weird.
Hope you find this interesting.

Orange Light Over Mansfield Road Derby UK
Date: October 27, 2010
Time: 6:45 p.m.Last night I witnessed an orange light in the sky. It appeared strange, so I got out of my car to observe. The object passed directly overhead and then disappeared.
Height: Difficult to estimate the height, but would guess 1000 - 2000 feet.
Direction and speed of travel: Travelling in a north-easterly direction at approximately 100 knots (very rough guess as the height is also a rough estimate).
Description: The light was bright orange and steady with a 'cone' of orange light beneath it, similar to a searchlight, but only a very short cone. This cone appeared to be 'looking' from left to right either side of the direction of travel, and as it passed overhead appeared to be looking behind and again swaying either side of its flight path. There was no noise, no flashing lights, no other lights visible and no other shape apart from the light source, although difficult to confirm this as it was dark. Approximately 15 seconds after passing overhead it simply disappeared - there had been no deviation from its flight path or changes in speed prior to the disappearance.
I have no idea what this object was - it certainly was not a Chinese lantern, since it moved too quickly, it's light was much too strong and steady and it travelled in a perfectly straight line.
I have over 5000 hours flying Tornado and Hercules aircraft in the RAF, but still cannot identify what this might have been, which was why I looked on the Internet to see if there had been similar sightings.
Just thought this might interest you. Yours.

Red Light Changes Direction Over Cork City Ireland
Date: October 24, 2010
Time: Approx: Midnight. The following night on 24 October 2010 my wife were walking in Cork City at about midnight when we saw the same object in the sky, coming overhead toward us, when it slowed down, changed direction, then became a whiter colour and seemed to fade away in the sky.
These two sightings baffle me completely and I am certain that many people must have seen it as the Cork Jazz festival was on at the time and the streets were full of people. The colour and brightness is similar to a tail light of a vehicle.
Looking forward to some kind of rational explanation.

Circular Red Glowing Object Over Belcarra Castlebar Mayo Ireland
Date: October 23, 2010
Time: 7:28 p.m.This evening my family and I saw a circular red glowing object, like a satellite, but brighter than the ISS and apparently much larger, travelling in a southerly direction at about 19h28 over Belcarra, Castlebar, Mayo. The speed was similar to that of a satellite or ISS.
There appeared to be a sharper light slightly off center toward the upper side of the circle. My daughter has taken a video of the object on her mobile phone. I have seen most kinds of objects but this is inexplicable to me and I would love to know what it was.
Regards.

Return Of Three Orange Objects Over Woolwich London UK
Date: October 24, 2010
Time: 8:10 p.m.Conditions: Very clear night sky
It is some weeks since the trio of orange lights appeared in the night sky over Woolwich. We had almost forgotten about them when they made an appearance last Sunday night.
Similar to before, they appeared from beyond City Airport, ascending quickly, possibly from the Beckton area. One at first with a dazzling orange light followed by another two. They proceeded line astern south, over the airport and across the river as before. Being a clear night with no haze, their orange flame-like appearance was extremely clear. However, as the sky was so dark, it was not possible to make out the shape of any form as we had before.
Just as before, they passed silently overhead with no navigation lights on a heading that crossed the prevailing westerly wind. This time they were travelling slightly higher than before. They are definitely NOT Chinese lanterns because they do not drift with the wind and the light source is not visible from 'behind'. They move very deliberately and in perfect line astern giving an impression of being intelligently guided.
If anyone else saw then would you please write a report too?

3 Orange Lights Over Walsall UK
Date: October 24, 2010
Time: Evening.Hello Brian, my name is (removed). I just seen your blog on UFO sightings over Walsall. I was in Walsall last night at a friends house. I smoke, but I don't smoke in the house. I went outside for a cigarette and saw 3 orange lights as you described. It was very strange and I couldn’t help, but stare. They were not planes as there was not flashing and to fast and in formation.
I was so intrigued. At first I thought it could be a meteor shower? I was transfixed. after a few minutes the same 3 orange lights came across the sky. They went quite quick and I never saw them after that. I can’t explain, but very excited about what I saw. I would love to know if this was real UFO activity. Hope your ok.

Red And White Lights Over Lickey Hills, South Birmingham UK
Date: October 10, 2010
Time: Between 7:40 p.m. and 7:55 p.m.
Hi There, I went out into the garden last night to have a cigarette. Whilst I was looking at the stars - a clear night, I saw flashing red and white lights which seemed to be coming from a single source (aircraft?) coming across the sky at a great speed.
It seemed to be travelling in one direction coming from north/east direction heading to south west. As I was watching, it seemed to suddenly catapult itself from the direction travelling to a 90 degree angle - towards the north. I was amazed and called my girlfriend out to look.
The lights continued flashing, the craft or whatever it was seemed very, very far away - but the lights showed up clearly. They were silent but It was travelling at an amazing speed which we found incredible - we have never seen any aircraft or helicopter travel so fast or be able to change direction so swiftly.
As we followed the lights across the sky for what must have been a matter of a few minutes, another set of lights exactly the same appeared heading towards it until they crossed nearby each other and then continued in same direction until they dropped beyond the horizon and we could no longer see them.
This happened between 7.40 pm and 7.55pm. We live near the Lickey Hills, South Birmingham.
We have been searching the internet to see if anyone else saw what we saw. We would be interested to hear.
Kind Regards.

Strange Object In The Sky Over Scotland UK
Date: July 2010
Time: Approx: 9:00 p.m.Hi, I am writing to you to expand my experience of sighting this light in the sky. I am from Scotland and the same thing happened to me in July 2010. I thought I would just let you know as it may be help.

Three Orange Burning Balls In V Formation Over Cloyne Scotland UK
Date: October 24, 2010
Time: Approx: 8:30 a.m.Hello, I just saw three large burning balls flying in a `V shape in the sky over Cloyne, they changed from bright orange to yellow and then back again. The one in the front was much larger. Then more 'planes' came from the direction of Cork airport, but they had lots of flashing lights on them - and it made them appear flat, they were heading out to sea
The lights were yellow and red and green and blue. I don't really believe in UFO's, but I definitely saw that at about 8:30pm tonight. - WOW! No one else was with me to witness it. Just thought I would let you know, I Googled orange lights over Cork and found your website. All the best.`

Unmanned Hot Air Balloon Over Belfast Ireland (Chinese Lantern)
Date: October 24, 2010
Time: Approx: 7:30 p.m.
As reported last night 23rd October 2 sightings of a then strange object in the sky over Belfast, coming out of the west and altering course overhead to a southerly direction before disappearing. Tonight 24th October, a similar object was observed moving from north to south. At ground level there did not seem to be any noticeable wind, yet it seemed to moving at a fair rate of knots.
This time I was able to view it through a pair of 10x50 binos. What I saw was an unmanned Hot Air balloon. I could see the burner.
The time was about 19.30 and it would be hard to give a size as I could not estimate its altitude, but it was a very bright object in the dark sky which appeared to be much higher than aircraft using our local airports.
If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was having a look around the sky as it was relatively cloudless, when I noticed an orange orb which appeared to be at a fairly high altitude coming out of the west and heading east. When almost overhead it abruptly changed direction heading in a southerly direction before dimming and eventually disappearing. First instincts were that it was a satellite, but the track was unusual and the colour didn't fit.
About 10 minutes later another (or could have been the same thing) orange orb came out of the west, approached nearly overhead, made a sharp 180 turn and travelled back into the west before disappearing from view. The luminosity seemed to be pulsating this time, although there were not any sign of aircraft strobe lights. At no time was any sound heard.
Could I also say that when first noticed it, it was coming from a region of the sky which is not far from Belfast International Airport. If at all possible could you let me know if any other reports have been registered and what was if there was an explanation outcome. Thanks.

Bright Burning Orange Light Over Belfast Northern Ireland
Date: October 20, 2010
Time: 7:50 p.m.Hello, I am from Northern Ireland in Belfast, last night at 19:50 20th October I was standing at my back door I was looking at the sky it was a clear night apart from the odd cloud, but you could see the stars behind my house is a row of houses from behind them came this bright orange light heading up toward the sky.
For a spilt second I thought it was a firework as this was burning and I was expecting to hear a boom, but this didn't happen. Then I thought, could this be that it was travelling faster then a plane with no noise from it. It just looked like a burning orange fire.
I stared and stared at it, I couldn't move as it went right across the night sky. I ran to my back garden and I was watching it continue high above the sky into the distance. It wasn't a meteor, nor a shooting star as I have seen them before, but nothing like this.
As the object travelled across the sky, a plane from Belfast City took off, so I'm sure the airport would have seen this on their radar. I didn't want to report it to the police, incase they thought I was mad, but I have never seen anything like this.
Kind regards.

Orange UFO Over Burham On Crouch In Essex UK (Pictures)
Date: August 23, 2009
Time: 7:49 p.m.Hello Brian, I was just reading about these light some of you readers have talked about. I am living in Burham on Crouch in Essex. There are some pretty good sightings around this area. I am hoping that I can send these pictures taken from my garden.
Strange these, as they seem to appear somewhat smaller and less intense that the appear with the naked eye.
The colour and resolution of the light gave the impression of great power almost like someone using welding gear with carbon brazing rods, I don't know if you have seen that but it is a very hot bright light. I could almost feel the radiation on my skin, but through the camera view finder the image appeared small and further away, but never the less I have sent them to you.
I have circled them on paint to highlight them. If I can upload these other pictures taken around the same time of year just following a thunder storm I was taking pictures of the rainbows for the kids and on looking at the pictures found these at least three UFOs only visible with camera and not naked eye. I again have enhances the colour only to highlight them you tell me what you think ok. 100% genuine and no tricks. I would like to join local club to go spotting these so if you have any tips I would appreciate it. Regards.
Additional Information:
Hello Brian,

If I can bring your attention to pic.125.jpg. If you zoom up on this one can see the intensity of the light.
I hope this will help. I would also like you to put me in touch with any clubs or organizations that study and sky watch in my area if you have details.

Orange Light Over A71 To Whitburn UK
Date: October 22, 2010
Time: 2:45 a.m.Hi, I was heading to work this morning 21/10/2010 at 2.45am, I travel along the A71 to Whitburn from the west, as I went past the mines to the west of Briech I saw an orange light in the sky towards the airport (maybe over it it's hard to judge the distance) Anyway I thought to myself I don't normally see a plane landing at this time ( you get to notice planes at the same time every day) and it was brighter and the light was larger than a planes landing lights.
So I watched this object looking for a red or blue light too, but there was definitely none.
I watched this all along the road until the traffic lights at Briech and it didn't move at all which would be unusual if it was an aircraft. I couldn't see it again until I got to the lights at Whitburn because of houses etc. But when I got there it still was in the same place, I then arrived at work and managed to sneak out about ten minutes later and it was still there, not appearing to have moved.
PS - I was looking for the Hartley comet too last night/early this morn, but couldn't see any stars because of a light cloud cover so stars are ruled out.

Pilot Enters An Intense Pink Light Near Tunbridge Wells UK
Date: October 19, 2010
Time: Evening.
Hello, from the out I'll say that this isn't normally my kind of thing, but I happened to be flying back into the UK Tuesday eve in a light-ish aircraft just after sunset and ran into an intense pink light weather/whatever phenomenon near Tunbridge Wells that I had never imagined.
I told various friends who also fly simply because it was more than strange and scared me a bit, so much so that I almost turned back away from it, but I entered it and the plane was lit up inside like the brightest summers day, only pink, but was then hit by such intense hail and turbulence that I lost my seat, lost my headset, banged my head and thought it so severe so I made a report on the radio to the radar service provider to warn other aircraft.
He commented that he could see intense cells in my location which surprised me as I had expected none.
The forecast was for none of the severe weather encountered or I would not have made the trip. I am glad that I told friends pretty well immediately both en route home from the airport, that night and next morning (so you can imagine how it affected me) because a day later I have had one of them just mail me a report on a very similar thing that was reported in the Mail over London.
It seems to get the brush off and comments were closed off and so on searching quickly came across your link touching on these things and felt it worth making contact.
If interested I'd be happy to give a fuller account. If you know of an explanation of any kind I'd be happy to hear.
All the best.
If anyone has witnessed the Pink Light, please send me an email with details of what you saw. Please remember to include the date and time and location. (Town/City – State or Province) and as much detail as possible.

Lights Then Black Helicopter Over Little Odell Bedfordshire UK
Date: October 13, 2010
Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Little Odell Bedfordshire UK.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 2 or 4.
Shape of Objects: Starry bright lights.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: We live in the countryside at Little Odell Beds. About 10:00pm on the evening of 1-3 October 2010, my wife and I witnessed 2 or 4 bright lights moving and hovering beyond a tree line approximately 1/2 mile from our location. As we tend to get occasional noisy helicopters in the same vicinity at night, we did not think too much of it at first, but as there were 2 possibly 4 lights and no sound, we had reason to suspect something different.
(A large tree blocked our view to a degree and we were not sure if 4 lights or the same two moving their position). The performance continued for approximately 10 minutes. Not sure whether or who to contact about this sighting, so we retired to bed.
However the following morning at about 9:00pm a black helicopter landed just beyond the same trees and stayed with engine running for 8-10 minutes, I did not think to get its number. At his point the helicopter rose and flew off in the NW direction of Bozeat at a height of approximately 20 feet and hugging the hedgerows until it disappeared.

Orange Light Over Eliburn Livingston UK (Chinese Lantern)
Date: October 14 and 15, 2010
Time: 10:40 p.m. Hi Brian,I have in the last 2 nights 14th + 15th October 2010 witnessed a strange orange light moving quite fast over Elburn Livingston. The first was Wednesday 14th about 2240 hrs travelling north to south right across the flight path I was gob smacked, then a aircraft took off from edi it looked like they were going to collide. I had a cold shiver down my back. I always go out for a ciggy at this time before I go to bed. Then last night 15th same time I saw another one going east to west.
Very odd.
My only explanation is a lantern that people light, never seen one before but what I have seen looks to be very bright orange. Regards.

Ball Of Orange Fire Over Currie Edinburgh Scotland UK
Date: October 11, 2010
Time: Approx: 8:00 p.m.
I saw, from the description, the exact same thing, on the same date In Currie, Edinburgh, when I was walking down from the bus stop. There was a man with 2 dogs, I noticed he was also looking at it. When I walked past him I remarked on how strange it was and he said, it was a bit late for it to be flying and when I asked him what it was, he suggested it was a hot air balloon.
I thought it was travelling a bit to fast to be a hot air balloon, and that it didn't look like the shape I would have expected to see. It was alot more round like. I've never seen anything like it. It was like a ball of fire travelling through the sky. The fire went out just after it flew over my head and it was then like a black circle flying through the sky. It never sped off, it remained at quite a constant speed. I would say it was maybe around 8 o'clock or something, maybe half 7.
I'm not the kind to rule other life form out, but its not something I think about, or pay much attention to, and certainly nothing I would have expected to have seen in my life time or in Currie. I'm not saying it was or wasn't a "UFO" so to speak, but I was just a bit weirded out by what it was. There didn't seem to be any logical explanation for it. I thought maybe there was, and that was why I checked out to see if anyone else had sighted it on that date. I was thinking maybe someone might have been able to shed some light on it.
If you list this sighting on your website, I would prefer that you don't use my name or email address, although I'm happy for you or anyone else to contact me, through yourself, if you want to ask anything..
Thanks.

Dark Triangular UFO And Lights Over Glasgow Scotland Prestwick International Airport
Date: June 25, 2010
Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.Hi, I noticed your blog spot and thought maybe this would be of interest to you.
I worked in a local private golf club, situated next to Prestwick International Airport. On the night of 25th June around 10:00pm I was taking a cigarette break outside with a member from the club when I looked into the sky. We watched a bright orange light moving fast from the northeast towards the west. It was moving against the wind that night, so we ruled out the possibility of it being a Chinese lantern as it was too big, moving too fast and also against the wind. We were bemused and said nothing further when we went back in the building.
The following night I was standing alone and due to what happened on the previous night I looked up into the sky. I actually shivered at what I saw. There was a dark triangular, shiny shaped object that was flying overhead at a low height. There was no sound and it was coming form the south and flew right over my head and headed north. I was quite annoyed at this time that no-one was there to witness this too.
A week later, I was waiting for a lift by a local taxi firm home from work when I looked at the sky again. I noticed two bright white lights following each other. Again, coming from the south and heading north. They seemed to be flying at a very high speed and I actually made the taxi driver get out his cab and watch with me. They then just disappeared.
On all of these occasions the sky was clear and their was only light winds. I searched the net for anyone that had noticed these lights as I was intrigued and came across your site.
These have not been my only sightings. Just before I had my son in June 1999, I lived further from the airport than I do now and was lying in bed when something caught my eye at my window. I saw what I can only describe as dancing white lights that were quite a distance from the earth. They moved very fast and seemed to move in what I can only describe as formation. They did this for around 20 minutes before shooting straight up into the sky. This was around 1:30am and has stuck in my mind for what seems forever due to the ridicule I received from telling the story.
There definitely seems to be some unexplained happenings in the area and I do hope this is of interest to you.
Yours sincerely.

2 Bright Orange Lights Over Banbridge Co Down Northern Ireland
Date: October 16, 2010
Time: Approx: 7:30 p.m.Hi, last night (16th October 2010) at approx 7:30pm my husband and I saw 2 bright orange lights above Banbridge, Co Down, Northern Ireland. They moved erratically, but fairly slowly in no particular pattern. One seemed to move more than the other, toward then away from the first.
The one moving the most, disappeared slowly to be followed by the other a minute or so later. Definitely didn't look like aircraft, or flairs or fireworks. FAR too high up. So weird.

Flaming Object Over Belfast Northern Ireland
Date: Saturday in early August 2010
Time: 10:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Hello Sir, my name is (removed) I am 18 from Belfast and I just read the "orange burning fire objects over Belfast Northern Ireland" article. I had an encounter like this myself, I was walking down Anadale direction ( I remember exactly where, just don't know the street) and I noticed something in the sky that looked like a star at first, then it began to move as if it was floating.
I stopped and stood against a fence just to watch it for around 5 minutes.
I thought it could be anything, like maybe one of those Chinese lanterns, but although it looked aflame and floating it had characteristics of something else completely. It moved slowly in multiple solid directions, undoubtedly against the wind at some points, stopped dead, moved more, stopped dead, until eventually it stopped and then vanished, not fade or flicker like a candle might, just gone.
From where I was, it looked like it could have been above Belvouir Forest Park or Lagan Meadows, also the height this object was at would mean the Chinese lantern was probably the size of a car or most likely much bigger, last one I saw witch by the way I've never even seen one in Ireland especially Belfast, was the size of a small TV.
Granted there might be a perfectly reasonable explanation for this, but I'm not convinced. In fact to me a perfectly reasonable explanation, would be an unearthly conclusion.
This hasn't been the best composed statement, but I hope I put in all the information your looking for and feel free to reply if you have any questions I might be able to answer.
Additional Information:
I hoped you wouldn't ask the date. I believe it was a Saturday in early August. I know the time was 10:00 - 10:30pm. Also there was no visible planes in the sky, it isn't hard to distinguish the air traffic above this city even on a harsh night. Cheers Brian.

Orange Ball Of Light Over Beckenham Kent UK
Date: October 18, 2010
Time: Approx: 7:20 p.m.Just Googled this and found your site. This evening I saw an orange ball of light over my house, quite high up, through the window. I thought it must be the glass which had distorted a normal plane light, but I went into the garden and it was the same. I thought it must be a plane on fire. but there's nothing in the news.
It was 7.20pm and I live in Beckenham Kent. It was heading in the same direction as the airplanes so towards South East - very similar to your story.

Four Orange Lights Over Truro Cornwall UK
Date: October 15, 2010
Time: 8:20 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Truro Cornwall UK.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 4
Shape of Objects: Too dark to tell.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was walking home from work (work as a nurse) along the A390 from Treliske Hospital towards Truro itself. Flying in a north-south direction, I noticed at first three orange lights in the sky.
The first light stayed flying in straight line, the following two lights seemed to fly around each other before flying away from each other, but both objects appeared to be mirroring each other keeping the same distance from the first light.
As I watched, a forth orange light came from the same direction and followed the same path as the first, disappearing over the roofs of near-by houses. The orange lights remained bold constantly (no flashing lights like planes or copters would have for navigation lights) and they made no sound.
