Five Bright Orange Lights Over Castlereagh Hills Belfast Northern Ireland

Date:  May 28, 2011
Time:  12:00 a.m.

Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 5
Shape of Objects: Round.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: My house is situated on the side of Castlereagh Hills so we have a clear view over the city and hills on other side. On Saturday evening around 12:00 a.m. my daughter and I saw two bright orange lights moving towards the house over the city.

We went outside to watch and one light moved further away and then disappeared. The other moved towards the house and overhead. We both watched spellbound until it moved across the sky and disappeared.

A few minutes later three more appeared much higher up and then eventually disappeared. They were not aircraft or Chinese lanterns, there was absolutely no sound from these lights and they gained height with extreme speed.

Two Orange Lights Over Belfast Ireland

Date: December 17, 2010
Time: Approx: 11:00 p.m.

Hi, just seen 2 orange lights above Belfast around 11:00pm tonight. One was moving slowly eastward, it stop then turn westward for around 30 seconds then moved very quickly skywards. I noticed it again 3 minutes later and a 2nd bright orange light was moving towards it from the north. I was watching this from the Dubmurry area.

I thought it might have been a helicopter, but there was no sound from them at all. Both moved against the direction of the wind and again moved in separate directions. This lasted around 2 minutes then took off skywards.

The cloud was breaking at the time and I could see them clearly when free from cloud cover.

I tried to capture it on video with my phone, but sadly they can't be seen. I did a quick check on the net and found your site when I got home. Hope this helps, I’d be interested if anybody else witnessed it.

Sent from my iPhone.

Black Triangles And Missing Time At Belfast Northern Ireland

Date: Around 1990 ?
Time: Approx: 9:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: Maybe 3 or something told me 1.
Shape of Objects: Triangular.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: My friend and I were standing at the corner of our street, I think it was summer. We were just talking when I had a notion to look up and above us, and there was three triangles.

They where black-ish and darker than the surrounding sky, I would say about 100 feet up. The objects were rotating slowly at first, with points facing the same direction(isosceles triangle). They where quite hard to make out, but when we spotted them, we just fell silent as if you where alone.

They then started to wave in and out of each other, still rotating. This is where my memory gets hazy as I can’t remember going home or even saying goodnight to my friend.

I know this sounds bizarre, but its what I remember. It is just so good to get this out in words. The triangles where about 3m - 15m and the time period of viewing seemed quite long, though I don't know how long.

Orange Lights Over Belfast City Ireland

Date: End of October to November 8, 2010
Time: Various times/day night.

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Round.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Hi I'd like some help please with what I am seeing here so frequently. I'm really serious, it’s no hoax. I don't want to waste anyone's time. To simplify it, its an orange ball I'm seeing literally every night I go out, no matter where or which direction. It is incredible, I have seen it at very low altitudes maybe 200 feet above the top of houses.

I have seen it at high altitudes also and I would estimate easily having seen this object, 30 plus times. One night I saw it 3-4 times in various places. I have tried to film it with my phone camera 3.2mp and on play back I see nothing apart from the sodium glow of street lights, cars, buildings etc. At times it’s been right in front of me to. I neither use alcohol or medication either. I have perfect vision, as only 2 weeks ago I read the last line of a test card in a medical, what ever this is, its 100% real.

I have thought it out and I have to dismiss it being Chinese lanterns for several reasons:

1. It does not drift or blow out

2. Its purity in its energy never diminishes although it does seem to go behind cloud.

3. I have seen it leave the ground from various locations around Belfast from somewhere near the BT building in the city center. Also from somewhere near the Forestside shopping center.

I have considered it being a Rocket/flare and I also dismiss that to, as there’s no noise, no smoke, no sparks and it does not ever burn out. I have watched it for a few minutes, usually it just goes away behind the buildings etc. I dismiss it being any conventional aircraft as it’s as I say, completely silent. Its smaller than a plane or a helicopter as I live over a fight path.

This object has no vapor trail, tail lights etc. Its always orange and very bright in colour. Only on one occasion while living on the top floor of a house whilst watching it go in two directions on some bizarre flight path from the skylight window in my bedroom. I saw what appeared to be a dark triangular (small) object under it. I can't be certain though, I really think its of interest especially of the frequency I see it. Its disturbing in some ways, please if I can help you more or if you have any knowledge I'd be delighted, yours hopefully.

Bright Orange Objects Over Belfast Northern Ireland

Date: October 31, 2010
Time: Approx: 5:25 p.m.

Hi Brian, last night 31 October 2010 as I was waiting at the bus stop on the Antrim road ("17:25") I looked to the sky and saw a large bright orange object flying across the sky which seemed to be burning. I based this off as some type of firework or balloon at first, but then 5 minutes later, when I saw another one, I began to become suspicious.

As I only moved to Belfast from the south last month, when I saw the object moving in an unconventional way, "zig zag". I began to think it was some type of RAF aircraft of the likes. I then went to work and finished there at "(23:00") and as I came home with my partner, I saw another one and showed it to her, she passed it off as fireworks as she is not a believer.

I then stayed in the front garden for an hour until about ("00:30") I saw 6 more of these objects moving in basically the same direction except one which was moving in the opposite direction for some time and then changed direction. Because I only moved up here, I’m not sure about compass directions. I have been searching the net for the past hour for other witnesses and came across your blog http://worldufos.blogspot.com/2010/10/unmanned-hot-air-balloon-over-belfast.html

I would like to know if you or anyone else seen this? This is my second possible sighting, so I’m hoping its not Hot air balloons! :) Best regards.

Unmanned Hot Air Balloon Over Belfast Ireland (Chinese Lantern)

Date: October 24, 2010
Time: Approx: 7:30 p.m.

As reported last night 23rd October 2 sightings of a then strange object in the sky over Belfast, coming out of the west and altering course overhead to a southerly direction before disappearing. Tonight 24th October, a similar object was observed moving from north to south. At ground level there did not seem to be any noticeable wind, yet it seemed to moving at a fair rate of knots.

This time I was able to view it through a pair of 10x50 binos. What I saw was an unmanned Hot Air balloon. I could see the burner.

The time was about 19.30 and it would be hard to give a size as I could not estimate its altitude, but it was a very bright object in the dark sky which appeared to be much higher than aircraft using our local airports.

Bright Burning Orange Light Over Belfast Northern Ireland

Date: October 20, 2010
Time: 7:50 p.m.

Hello, I am from Northern Ireland in Belfast, last night at 19:50 20th October I was standing at my back door I was looking at the sky it was a clear night apart from the odd cloud, but you could see the stars behind my house is a row of houses from behind them came this bright orange light heading up toward the sky.

For a spilt second I thought it was a firework as this was burning and I was expecting to hear a boom, but this didn't happen. Then I thought, could this be that it was travelling faster then a plane with no noise from it. It just looked like a burning orange fire.

I stared and stared at it, I couldn't move as it went right across the night sky. I ran to my back garden and I was watching it continue high above the sky into the distance. It wasn't a meteor, nor a shooting star as I have seen them before, but nothing like this.

As the object travelled across the sky, a plane from Belfast City took off, so I'm sure the airport would have seen this on their radar. I didn't want to report it to the police, incase they thought I was mad, but I have never seen anything like this.

Kind regards.

Flaming Object Over Belfast Northern Ireland

Date: Saturday in early August 2010
Time: 10:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Hello Sir, my name is (removed) I am 18 from Belfast and I just read the "orange burning fire objects over Belfast Northern Ireland" article. I had an encounter like this myself, I was walking down Anadale direction ( I remember exactly where, just don't know the street) and I noticed something in the sky that looked like a star at first, then it began to move as if it was floating.

I stopped and stood against a fence just to watch it for around 5 minutes.

I thought it could be anything, like maybe one of those Chinese lanterns, but although it looked aflame and floating it had characteristics of something else completely. It moved slowly in multiple solid directions, undoubtedly against the wind at some points, stopped dead, moved more, stopped dead, until eventually it stopped and then vanished, not fade or flicker like a candle might, just gone.

From where I was, it looked like it could have been above Belvouir Forest Park or Lagan Meadows, also the height this object was at would mean the Chinese lantern was probably the size of a car or most likely much bigger, last one I saw witch by the way I've never even seen one in Ireland especially Belfast, was the size of a small TV.

Granted there might be a perfectly reasonable explanation for this, but I'm not convinced. In fact to me a perfectly reasonable explanation, would be an unearthly conclusion.

This hasn't been the best composed statement, but I hope I put in all the information your looking for and feel free to reply if you have any questions I might be able to answer.

Additional Information:

I hoped you wouldn't ask the date. I believe it was a Saturday in early August. I know the time was 10:00 - 10:30pm. Also there was no visible planes in the sky, it isn't hard to distinguish the air traffic above this city even on a harsh night. Cheers Brian.

Orange Burning Fire Objects Over Belfast Northern Ireland

Date: August 29, 2010
Time: Between 9:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Belfast Northern Ireland.
Number of witnesses: 3
Number of Objects: 1 and 2 previous separate nights.
Shape of Objects: Hard to describe, fire formation.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Just objects like a burning fire, orange in color moving across the sky then fading into the distance. Not commonly behaving like a plane or aircraft. The first time there were 2 and they almost met in the sky and then vanished. The second time (tonight) there was one alone and seemed to travel off then vanish. They looked like fire balls that's the only way I can describe them.

Orange Lights Flying In Formation Over Belfast Ireland

Date: January 1, 2010
Time: After midnight.

Hi Brian, I witnessed these in Belfast with my daughter last night while we were watching the fireworks. We live up the side of a mountain so they appeared quite close to us when they first appeared. I thought they were fireworks but they were too controlled and appeared to be “flying” in formation. They seemed to move to a higher altitude and faded. Thanks.
