Date: October 2, 2011
Time: 8:50 p.m.Hello, at 8:50pm today my fiancée and I were in our back garden having a cigarette and saw a very large bright orange ball of light (not flashing) appear high up and ahead of us. Estimated height lower than aeroplane, possibly less than a mile away. There was no noise.
It travelled away from us (in Dunstable), east-north-east approximately towards Luton airport.
It’s trajectory seemed to be descending and travelling in a straight line until it was out of sight (our view obscured by a hill). The duration was about 1 minute and apparent distance of travel guessed at 15 miles. The flight path was straight except for a slight apparent veer to the right.
There was an aeroplane high up, to the east - usual flashing beacons and sound. Vastly different to the deep orange very bright light we had just seen. The light was constant and not fading or pulsating.
Nothing on the news yet.
