Maryport, Cumbria, England A Boomerang Shaped Cloud (Unusual)

Full Description of event/sighting: I was around 13 or so at the time and I don't remember exactly when it was. My parents and I were watching the TV when both my dad and I saw a flash in the sky that made us look up. He recalls it as being bright white, I recall it as being more "yellowy". Anyway, my mam didn't see it and had no idea why the two of us rushed over to the window. In the sky there was a boomerang-shaped cloud, darker than the real clouds that was flying, going faster, on a trajectory, that made us realize it was "something unidentified". We had a few USAF bases in the area, so I am not suggesting this was extraterrestrial, just extremely strange! The boomerang cloud changed direction when we went outside and my mam started flapping her arms at it (!) and went into a white cumulus cloud. The boomerang cloud was more of a grey/charcoal colour. That was the last we saw of it, it didn't come out the other side. My parents phoned to report it and got some papers in the post to fill in a report. The only other thing we heard about this was years later, after we moved to Canada. My grandmother sent us a clipping from a newspaper or magazine (I don't remember) that said this reported sighting had been tracked on radar, so there must be a file on it somewhere.
