Three Bright Lights Over Plymouth Devon UK

Date: March 21, 2011
Time: Evening.

Hi, my name is (name removed) and I just read your report on the lights you seen. Well on Monday evening, must have been around the same time my boyfriend and I were walking up to my friends house, and as we came out of the lane in the sky were two very bright lights in the sky.

It looked like bright stars. As I continued to watch, I noticed there were three lights, one was fading and then the brighter ones lowered themselves, then separated and sped out into the distance. I know it weren't Chinese lanterns or anything like that because nothing moves like that, and the lights were way too bright.

They looked like the kind of glow you get when welding, if you know what I mean.

I live in Plymouth Devon and its not the first time I've seen something similar, back in 2003 New Years Eve, early hours I had a similar experience whilst my x husband and I were walking our dog and this huge light in the sky zig zagged across the sky, stopped and seemed to follow me and my husband.

We later told our friend, well embarrassing, to whom she jumped in relief because she had seen the same thing and thought she was going mad. Since that night in 2003, I have invested in a pair of good binoculars and spend most of my time looking up. I'm so glad I'm not the only person who believes in UFOs and that someone else can confirm the sightings.

Thanks for taking your time out to read this, I'm not expecting any outcome, just wanted to let you know about my experiences. Thank you.

Orange Light Seen Over Plymouth UK

Date: July 26, 2010
Time: Approx: 10:30 p.m.

We have just seen an orange light over house in Plymouth. Upon reading the report filed at the end of June it seems an exact description of what we say but as it diminished another appeared from over the sound and follow the exact same path. I am usually a skeptic, but I can't explain it. Did anyone else see them? I feel like I'm going mad! Many thanks.

Flame Colored Orange Light Over Plymouth UK

Date: June 26, 2010
Time: Approx: 10:35 p.m.

I have just (about 10.35 p.m. 26.06.10) witnessed an unidentified object in the sky over my house in Plymouth UK. I saw it out the window and thought at first it was the reflection of a tail-light or indicator light, but there was nothing in the street moving when I checked. It could have been either fairly low and moving relatively slowly, or at great height moving faster. It was really difficult to tell.

The light was steady and definitely a flame-coloured orange, so not an aircraft or helicopter as far as I can tell. It passed out of site over the house from my front window so I went to the back and after maybe 10-20 seconds saw it on the other side (travelling north-easterly, I think).

I opened the window but could hear no sound of aircraft or helicopter engines. As it approached the horizon it seemed to diminish in brightness and then just kind of winked out. I frankly don't know what to make of it. Regards.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

5 Red And Gold Lights Over Lipson Plymouth UK

Date: March 23, 2010
Time: Evening.

Hello, my name is (name removed) and last night I saw 5 red and gold stars floating at equal distance, following the same trajectory over my house. I live in Lipson, Plymouth and I wondered if you had any information on what they could be? I am positive they were not aeroplanes and not fireworks.

Six Balls Of Orange Light Seen Over St Judes Plymouth UK

Date: March 5, 2010
Time: 11:15 p.m. -11:20 p.m.

Location of Sighting: St Judes, Plymouth.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 6
Shape of Objects: Small balls of orange light.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: From my front window noticed three orange lights in a large triangle shape moving from the north to the south followed by another 3 the same size and in the same formation moving the same direction and speed. The lights were not flashing and moved steadily across the sky in one direction. Having lost sight from the front of my house, I moved to the back kitchen window and could only see two lights fading quickly until no longer visible.

The whole sighting probable only lasted about 30-60 seconds. I could not hear anything, but was in doors anyway. I've never seen anything like this before and I know what I'm looking at, having been brought up with parents in the RAF. Quite odd.

Difficult to guess the height, but didn't seem that high based on the time to move over my house.

5 Red Balls Of Light Over Plymouth Near The Barbican Area UK

Date: February 6, 2010
Time: Approx: 10:45 p.m.

On Saturday evening about 10.45 pm my Husband and Son we were just coming out of an Indian restaurant which is on the back streets behind Plymouth Aquarium. We had a taxi waiting to take us home. We were taken back by 5 red balls (very bright) and low going very slowly across the sky.

It was a very clear night with stars around. One of the balls was lagging behind a little bit but they were soon all together in a straight line. It was uncanny because there was no noise and they were going quite slowly. We did not have any camera's on us, but thought someone else may have seen them. We did not see them vanish across the sky as unfortunately we could not let the taxi wait any longer.

Orange Light Sighting Over Plymouth UK - Chinese Lanterns

Date: January 1, 2010
Time: Just after midnight.

Hi Brian, My father witnessed these lights over Plymouth at the time you have stated. He and friends reported seeing 4 orange lights doing various things for approximately 30 minutes. Do you have any other info? Regards.

Additional Info:

Brian, thanks for your reply. The time was shortly after midnight on New Years eve. Funny thing there is a banking advert on television presently (not sure if it is sky or terrestrial) which features these Chinese lanterns. Looks like these are a strong candidate for the answer. Regards.

Keyham, Plymouth, England A Circular Light

Posted: May 23, 2009

Date: April 17, 2009
Time: 12:05am - 12:20am, 02:55am - 03:05am

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Circle and sphere.
Weather Conditions: Dry, clear sky.

Description: 12:05am - 12:20am - Me and a friend, were sat on a bench talking and I looked forward at the sky at 3 stars in a shape of a triangle. When another star appeared from the star at the bottom of the triangle and started moving in an upwards motion at medium speed, then slowed down and started moving downwards towards the star it appeared from, then as it passed the bottom star it moved at medium speed again in a north east direction from where we were facing then disappeared. Then it started to blink then disappeared once more. Then my friend spotted it again and pointed it out to me..and it appeared to us as a circle shape with orange and yellow flashing lights around the sides all lined up. Then the object started to move in an oval motion back and forth doing a full rotation off a circle 2 times in a row before speeding off to the west and then disappearing completely.

02:55am - 03:05am - My friend had spotted some smoke coming from nowhere to the side of us in a sphere shape. And we stood trying to figure out where it was coming from...then my friend started screaming and told me he had just seen a close up of a ufo. It came from the smoke and moved to the east fast then stopped and shot off in the north west direction..(I didn't see it as I was not looking at this point. Then I said to my friend I was going home and as I turned I looked up at the sky once more and seen a huge dark circle that shot over my head and disappeared. At this point me and my friend were quite shaken up and decided to call it a night and went home.

Plymouth, Devon, England UK A Bright Star Like Object Moves Quickly

Posted: April 19, 2009

Date: April 16, 2009
Time: 9:01 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Plymouth, Devon, England.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Spherical.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: A bright star like object, very still at first, appeared to be changing colour from red to green, we thought it must be a plane because of the colours, but knew it couldn't be because it was so still. It then started moving westerly, this was when we realized it couldn't be a star as it wasn't moving as fast as a shooting star but was moving fast.

Thank you to the witness for their report.

Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom An Amber/Red Colored Spherical Object

Posted: April 12, 2009

Date: March 5, 2009
Time: 19.00

Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Spherical.
Weather Conditions: Exceptionally clear night.

Description: The object was an amber/red colour and appeared to be at high altitude. To my eye it was a similar size to that of a large star was from my vantage point. The object was extremely fast moving across the sky which meant I had to run to the edge of the building I was standing beside to keep it in view. The object had no tail so I ruled out it being a shooting star.

It was that fast moving I think I can rule out it being a satellite and it disappeared into the distance rather than faded away. The object was far too fast to be any type of aircraft and there was absolutely no sound as it passed over. It had a stable straight line trajectory which I described to my friend as 'arrowing across the sky'. I was located in central Plymouth with very little glare from street lighting in the area I was in.

It was an extremely clear and frosty night and I believe I tracked the object for at least 5 - 10 seconds before it was out of sight. I have witnessed meteor showers and satellites on many occasions but have never seen anything that moved as quickly as this object did.

Pevrell Plymouth UK Round Bright Yellow And Orange Lights

Posted: February 16, 2009

Date: February 13, 2009
Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

I was looking out of my bathroom skylight window and I saw a large round bright yellow and orange light flying towards me. There was no sound as it came overhead. I ran downstairs to my wife and we watched it fly on towards Cornwall. We then saw that there was another one much further ahead traveling in the same direction. This one disappeared and the one I saw first followed the same flight path until it also disappeared. I then went back upstairs. I went to close the bathroom window when from nowhere there came another exactly the same. This also came directly over my house and carried on to Cornwall on the same flight path. Also above the bright ball of light where broken red lights which were moving in a circular motion. Can you let me know if you have received anything like this, this for the above date. Regards.

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.

Buckfast And Plymouth Sound Strange Light Disappears And Then Reappears (Video Footage)

Posted: February 3, 2009

Date: February 2, 2009
Time: Approx: 8:00 p.m.

Notice: I just would like to inform folks that there is one word that is colorful, so please keep this in mind.

Hi, Myself and two work colleges saw a strange moving white light on the way back from Exeter this evening. We sighted it at 8pm around Buckfast and it followed the A38 to around the Plympton turn off where it got a lot smaller as it sped off and incredible speed (turning blue/green as it did). We though it was a helicopter as first but it began to move toward and away from us extremely quick and we heard no noise from it. It dived down to tree level and back up again. It had no turning arc it just changed direction.

It then re-appeared over the Plymouth sound direction and moved slowly toward Mount Batten. I called my wife and she saw it from Home (Staddiscombe) as it hung stationary over Mount Batten. My Apprentice filmed the light on his mobile phone, I have asked him to upload it to facebook. Four of us saw this and we all agreed this was not manmade object we have ever seen. I just watched the Lincolnshire UFO video online for the first time. It was very similar to light we saw. Regards.

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report and footage.

Plympton Plymouth Devon, UK A Spherical Fireball With Trail

Posted: January 13, 2009

Date: January 9, 2009
Time: 6:50 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Plympton Plymouth Devon.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Spherical with trail.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was standing outside work with colleague when I noticed something in the sky to my left. I looked instantly and it appeared to be a huge fireball with trail which was travelling towards earth, but disappeared behind a building. My colleague and I could not believe what we had seen. It was not a shooting star as it was too large and too low in the sky. We thought it could have been a meteorite, but as I said before, it was very large.

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.
