Object Had A Green Glow And Orange Tail Seen Over Poulton-Le-Fylde UK

Time:  Approx; 9:40 p.m.

 

Hi  Brian, I saw it too, as it caught my eye outside the front window whilst I was watching TV. Travelling south/southeast I think.

 

Certainly looked as though it was something burning up as it was coming down through the atmosphere, flame colours (green glow with an orange tail – similar colours to when soldering copper pipes with flux ).

 

For some reason it seemed quite low as though it would crash in Lancashire or nearby. But I’m surprised so many have seen it around all parts of the UK?

 

Didn’t see anything other than the one object, no stars following etc.

 

Haven’t heard anything on the local news about it.

Orange Flame Like Light Over Poulton Le Fylde Towards Fleetwood UK

Hi Brian, My name is (name removed), me and my girlfriend were out on a walk about an hour ago when I spotted something out the corner of my eye. When we looked, we saw an orange flame like light in the sky heading north west over Poulton Le Fylde towards Fleetwood. I used to work on the airport and it was like no nav light I had ever seen, there was no repetitive pattern to how it flared.

We watched it go off into the distance at quite a rate and though the clouds covered it, we could distinctly make it out again once it flared. My girlfriend thought it might be a comet, but I don't think it would have such a sustained burn. Have you had any interesting findings?

Poulton-Le-Fylde, Lancashire, England Object Appears To Look Like A Lantern

Shape of objects: Orange star shape, looked like something on fire at first.
Weather Conditions: Clear with some light cloud.

Description: I was outside walking towards my outbuilding, we live in the country so it is very dark. I noticed an orange light rising in the direction on Inskip, I thought it looked unusual due to the colour of it. It rose up steadily silent at all times, it was not a plane or helicopter. I called my wife from my mobile to come outside, when I pointed up to where it was it had moved a fair distance in a spilt second, it the moved across the sky steadily and disappeared above us. It was silent at all times. My wife describes it looking like a lantern.

Poulton Le Fylde In Lancashire, UK Lights In Formation (Photos)

Hi Brian, never reported anything like this, in fact have always been slightly skeptical, but my wife and I witnessed the weirdest thing last night whilst out walking the dog. We live in a town called Poulton Le Fylde in Lancashire UK (north west England) we were out walking the dog and at approx 21.35. We witnessed the first one, then a further 2 large bright lights moving fairly slowly overhead. The direction was from the NE and travelling to the W. They seemed to be in formation. we watched them for approx 5-7 minutes until they disappeared into low cloud, they were flying below the cloud which was low when we first witnessed them and appeared fairly large, i had the impression they were moving in a circuitous route.

We were fascinated so decided to retrace our route and 5 minutes later were passed again by the lights, they could have been 3 more but i had the distinct impression it was the same 3 completing a circuit. The first time we saw them a couple had come outside their house and were also watching and commenting on how strange the objects were, on our second sighting we were passed by a guy talking excitedly on his mobile phone about the lights and it is quite possible that a group standing outside the local pub also witnessed the event. As it was Xmas day there was very little traffic on the road and the second time they passed us it was apparent that they were absolutely silent, no rotor noise like a chopper ( the local police have 1 incident chopper) and certainly no jet noise. I would describe the coloration as similar to a sodium glow/gold-ish, no evidence of navigation or other lights, my feeling was that the objects were quite large, i have 4 pictures taken on my mobile phone, quality is not great but they are very obviously not conventional aircraft.

I must add that whilst this was Xmas day, I was absolutely sober having had just one glass of wine at three in the afternoon, looking on your web site (this is the first time i have ever had reason to research these matters) there seems to be a spate of similar incidents over a short timeframe here in the UK, or are these sightings common? If you are interested I will try to transfer the images from my phone and forward them, on an unrelated topic I share your love of fishing being a very keen lure fisherman specializing in large pike.
