Orange Object Seen Over Sawbridgeworth Hertfordshire England UK

Full Description of Event/Sighting: 2:59 a.m. I was awoken by my 3 year old son to an incredibly loud noise, I thought it was a low flying big plane (we are right near the airport so this does happen sometimes!) but the sound went on at the same level for 13 minutes from when I awoke.

The sound was constant, so I deduced it can't be a plane as it would have gone in 2 minutes. Looked out front and back window, but could see nothing.

3:09 a.m. - Another noise, a helicopter, clearly circling (due to variation in volume and pitch) extremely close. At this point I thought a plane must have crashed, but a jet engine still going (because constant noise) and that a helicopter was there to rescue or report.

3:12 a.m. - Both the helicopter and the other extremely loud noise faded away.
My Dad, who lives a couple of hundred yards away, said he woke at 3:10 a.m. and he could hear a background hum and something that sounded like a helicopter, but not quite right.

He heard the noise move to the direction of our house so he looked out the window and saw an orangey orb (a bit Venus looking) and what looked like an aircraft with a green and amber light on it.

Strangely enough my friend was in Harlow hospital on 16th and 17th and said she heard similar noises in the night, she was worried due to how loud it was, but the hospital staff said it was just a helicopter, but she was sure it wasn't.

3 Large Orange Oval Shaped Object Observed Over Welwyn Garden City Hertfordshire UK

Time:  Approx: 7:30 p.m.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: It was bonfire night and I was in the garden with my family. From a westerly direction, 3 large identical orangey oval shapes came across the sky quite low.

 

I saw them first and called everyone to look. At first we wondered if they were lanterns or a new type of firework, but soon dismissed it as they were moving in perfect unison. One shot off rapidly to the right and the remaining two continued in our direction.

 

Soon they were over our house, so my husband shone a 5 million candle torch up onto them where they immediately stopped and hovered in mid air for about a minute. Then amazingly they rose vertically up as if to get away from the torch beam and disappeared completely.

 

Although it was 4 years ago I have never forgotten this sighting. I noticed that someone else saw the same thing so I thought I would confirm I saw it too and have never been able to explain it. Many thanks.

Bright Lights And Helicopters Patrolling The Airspace Over Days Inn South Mimms Hertfordshire UK

Time:  Approx: 8:00 p.m.

 

I was staying at Days Inn South Mimms, Hertfordshire on Saturday 14th February 2009. At about 20:00 I looked out of the window, a dozen or so bright lights descended down from the clouds and hovered motionless at various points high in the sky. 

 

Four of these lights formed an arc which could suggest a very large 'mother ship'. They remained for about 15 minutes then flew up and disappeared. Half an hour later they came back and again, resumed their position for about 10 minutes.

 

At this point 2 helicopters flying at lower altitude started 'patrolling' the airspace as if they were protecting us from these visitors. They lights then disappeared.

Orange Lights Over South Oxhey Hertfordshire UK

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was driving home from work in Watford and I noticed a number of orange lights in the sky to the south of South Oxhey just hovering in the sky. It may have just been my perception, but they didn't appear to be moving at this stage.

They were high up in the sky, but very bright and orange and appeared to be a uniform distance apart.

When I got home and parked my car, I looked to see if I could get a better view and figure out what the lights were and at this point they were moving in a northeasterly direction towards Watford/Bushey. There were at least 9 lights moving at a uniform distance apart.

It was as if a giant chain of fairy lights were being dragged across the sky, though it was night, so I could not see if they were connected somehow. I discounted this theory as they were quite a distance apart (The first ones I saw were out of sight before the last ones appeared) so they were unlikely to be physically connected.

The lights followed at the same speed and distance across the sky. They seemed to be moving slower than a normal airplane. I thought about helicopters, but there was no noise and the sustained speed and distance between each of the lights made me doubt whether such precision formation flying could be achieved by a group of helicopters.

The final 5 lights were in a V formation like a flock of geese.

I left my phone at work so couldn't record what I saw. This all happened in a 10 minute period. I checked astronomical sights in case there was some explanation like meteors burning up in the sky, but there was nothing expected today then I came across your site as there have been similar sightings in Hertfordshire before.

I just want to know if anybody knows what the lights are?

Orange Lights Flying Over Hertfordshire UK

I'm not a nutter. I have an incredibly responsible job.

I was having a cigarette outside at around 6:20 this evening in my back garden when I saw one orange light flying quite low over my home. There was no engine noise and at first I was concerned that a plane may have taken off from Luton or Stanstead and have an engine fire.

I was about to go inside and ring the CAA, when a group of three lights with exactly the same characteristic followed then two more one off to my right one off to my left. The whole event lasted around 3 minutes.

I have to confess to being a bit freaked out!

These were not helicopters: no engine noise, too slow moving for meteorites and planes would have had both navigation lights and engine noise at that height.

I finally decided I ought to at least record the event with someone.

Bright Flashes In The Clouds Outside The Village Of Welwyn In Hertfordshire UK

Time: Approx: 11:00 p.m.

Hi, I was walking home through a field with my friends at approximately 23:00 on Saturday 24th July 2010. We were just outside the village of Welwyn in Hertfordshire. It was a cloudy night and about a mile away from us we could see huge flashes of both orange and yellow light, it looked like entire clouds were glowing! The flashes repeated about 10 times over roughly 4 minutes. At times the glowing would continue for about 10 seconds.

I have never witnessed anything like it before and thought it was strange yet beautiful. I really don't know what it could be, some kind of rare weather or possibly even a UFO? I thought you might be interested and may have an answer as to what you think this could be?

Unknown Bright White Light Over Hertfordshire UK

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Appeared to be a low flying plane at first as it went overhead, though not making any sound that I could hear. There was only a constant bright white light, no flashing lights. As it continued overhead, I realised that the back end of it was also just a bright white light. Appeared to be spherical, and had the appearance of a star. It appeared to be moving fairly slowly, but I had no understanding of the height it was flying so this factor could be questionable.

It changed direction in the sky in a way that would seem not possible for an aeroplane to do. It then appeared to be moving in my direction. At the time I thought it to have paused roughly 70 feet above me, but it didn't give off any light on nearby trees nor the ground, so I can only assume in hindsight it paused much higher in the sky than this. It paused for about 5 seconds, then began to (appear) to ascend and continue in the direction it was going.

Using Google maps, I worked out it appeared to be going southeast.

10 Bright Red/Orange Lights Over Hertfordshire UK (New Year)

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Went outside for a ciggie, looked up and saw bright red/orange light moving very fast across sky no noise no flashing lights just a bright orb with what looked like beams of light on underside. Object then disappeared. About a minute later another appeared and did the same and was identical. Went to get my wife to look and as we both looked about a minute later then saw about 8 more identical moving in same direction all appear one after the other. Lasted for about ten minutes and then no more. Have to say it was odd, tried to film but couldn't zoom in.

Approximately 10 Red Colored Lights Seen Over Hertfordshire UK

Hi, I just read your blog on world UFO's about your sighting tonight. I was searching to see if anyone else had seen anything, the thing is I think I may have seen something very similar to you. Myself and my boyfriend saw approx: ten red lights moving over our local area, first light sighted at 00.02. We thought at first they might have been helicopters but then realized there were far to many and the movement was too erratic and not consistent with that of any aircraft we could think of. This is the first time I've ever seen anything like this, I'm totally baffled. Strangest thing is we're miles from you, we're in Hertfordshire.

Green UFO Chases Witnesses Down The A1M North From Hertfordshire, UK

My 13 year old son and his pal were chased by a green buzzing light for about 200 yards around about 7:00pm. I actually saw this light emerge from the river on New Years Day around about 6:00pm. It spun off at a great speed and turned into a brilliant amber egg shaped light. My friend arrived at my home on Friday 13th about 7:45pm and had seen the same green light all down the A1M coming north from Herts. The light shone above my home 10:25pm. I saw the very same thing on 16th Oct 1979, which concerns me that we are having a repeat visit which turned out to be a horrific night. I am anxious to know if there were any other reports on this Friday passed. Yours Sincerely.

Full Description of event/sighting: orange circular objects, going in formation, the last one seemed to lag behind the others, at first we thought that there were just three then the last one came along. We watched for about three minuets then they disappeared into the low clouded sky.
