Full Description of Event/Sighting: Around 9:00pm last night me and my partner both saw a orange ball in the sky about 20 times as big as a star. It was moving slowly across the sky in a straight line getting smaller and smaller, until it disappeared. It wasn't a shooting star or a plane. I've read on this forum that somebody else saw it but a hour later? Weird stuff.

Orange Lights Over County Durham UK

I saw two of the same 1-1-2010 ca 21:30 in County Durham. I know what I saw, unbelievable! The first one was flying toward me, but then I noticed a second one, quite some way away. It made a sort of snake-like maneuver and in a second or two, caught up with the other one. They were orange, sort of irradiating erratically with a deeper orange/reddish centre, moving way faster than any plane I see taking off from Newcastle and they were silent. It was a dead quiet night, no traffic (I live quite rural) and I'm actually quite moved by the experience.

2 Round Orange Lights Seen Over South Hetton County Durham UK

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Hi, I was on the phone to my mother (who lives in the same village as me) at the time wishing her a Happy New Year at 00:15am on 01/01/2010 when she told my husband and I to look out of the window at the two orange lights in the sky. The night was clear and there were no fireworks going off at the tine, it couldn't have been airoplanes as they have white/red flashing lights, these were just two orange lights that shone constantly without flashing at all. We watched them circle then swoop past each other and disappeared south. I couldn't believe my eyes and felt quite scared, my husband told me not to be silly and to go to sleep, I just couldn't stop thinking about it and I found your website and have since learned we weren't the only ones to have seen it! This is the weirdest thing I've ever known.

Is there any way we could contact the government/met office to find out if they know what they were considering the amount of witnesses to this?

Description: I was working a night shift and we saw 3 bright orange lights flashing and the sky,but they were appearing to change colour between red,green and white when stationary. As we watched them they were moving around then 2 of them got closer together and one passed over the other flew some distance apart then followed the same path back. As it flew in the opposite direction passed the one it flew over the other followed the same path as the other it went on for about 40 min then they disappeared.

Hi there, I looked into that earlier as I was quite disturbed by what we witnessed and I can rule out that possibility. We sat for the remaining shift trying to work out what we had seen. One of my colleges that also witnessed it is what I call a space freak. He spends many nights on his telescope looking at planets and has a wide knowledge of the planets, stars and the universe. He was so excited (like a child at Christmas) and he said he has never seen anything like it.

Last night was so clear the stars were beautiful, we ruled out most possibilities as in a 12 hour night shift we can see for miles and almost every night witness and hear helicopters and air traffic in our area. At first we thought that they could be helicopters but they were the wrong colour and there was no noise, the night was silent, and they were flying too close together. I have refused to believe in the past that they may be intelligent life out there but also know that it is ignorant of me to think that in the entire universe we are alone. Maybe it is just fear of the unknown. Regards.

Catchgate, Co Durham, England UK A Bright Glowing Orange Fireball/Orb

Description: I was going to help my friend get his car out of the mud as it was stuck on a field when a very bright glowing orange fireball/orb appeared. I said to my other 2 friends look because they were busy at the time trying to get the car out the mud but they were not interested one said its just a satellite I know it wasn't so I stood watching for 5 mins it was quite cloudy too but the UFO was visible very clearly through a gap in the clouds then it shot off amazingly fast. Two days later I saw another as I was backing out of my driveway so I stopped and watched it dance about side to side for 2 mins then it shot off it was the same type as the other a fireball/orange one this happened just about a mile from the first.

Description: A large orange burning object travelled across the sky at a constant height and controlled speed, not fast or slow & hovered above us at just below cloud height for a few minutes. Then it travelled a small distance back in the direction it came from and disappeared into the cloud. It was not a lantern. It was then spotted two nights later by my partners daughter and her friends.

Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, England A Round Orange Object

Description: When I was leaving my local sports club at approx 22.45 I noticed and orange object in the sky which was about the size of two match heads not intensely bright and not flashing. It was traveling in a east to west direction at first assumed it was a satellite but then it slowly turned in north westerly direction and the orange glow got dimmer and disappeared. I thought it may have been a military plane on afterburn but there was no noise or pulsed emission of light. I have never seen anything like this in my life it was quite unusual.

Description: I came out of Morrisons super market (North Road) into the car park and saw several bright red lights in the sky. At first I thought it was a final burst of a firework and I watch to see where it could of came from but the red lights didn't fade away as you would expect, they just moved slowly cross the sky. There was no regular shape or pattern to the clusters of lights. Just bright red dot like lights.

Description: I was walking with my friend going towards the swimming baths when I noticed this huge orange cigar shaped object motionless ahead, as we started walking towards it, it started moving very slowly forwards,it then stopped and shot backwards and then again motionless, by this time we were very frightened and tried to hide as it felt as if we were being watched.it continued to make angular sharp turns and then finally started to drift slowly in its original
direction.while it was there I didn't see any cars passing,but when we got to the swimming baths I got some adults to come and look outside, they didn't know what it was but didn't show much interest.

It was very low in the sky and making impossible maneuvers, it glowed a yellow/orange color and felt menacing. Years later I was talking to a builder in my sister-in-laws house and we got onto the subject of UFOs, it turned out that he and a number of people at beamish which is the direction I saw it heading had witnessed it also. He said that it had been reported
