Orange Colored Objects Over Chesterfield UK

I witnessed this event on Saturday 20th June at 11.30 p.m. I was visiting my parents who live in Chesterfield, and my mum was in the kitchen basically watching these for about 3 minutes. I came in and caught the tail end, and saw 3 of them.

 

They were orange coloured, slightly rectilinear in shape (not disc shaped from what I could make out). They were either very low and slow moving, or extremely high and fast moving. My guess as it was a cloudy evening was low and slow, which discounts standard jet propelled aircraft.

 

They were to the north probably 2-3 miles away which would have positioned them over the water (Thames Estuary), heading on an eastward course towards Herne Bay. At the initial time my mum in particular assumed these were coming back from the nearby Margate Event, an Airshow taking place that weekend.

 

I pointed out they were actually flying in the direction of Margate, not returning and even so why would they be flying at 11:30 in the evening. She then explained she had counted about 25-30 of these objects. It was then that I said I think you've experienced UFO's.

 

Firstly there were not 25-30 similar aircraft at this show, I think the red arrows were there by they number 9 aircraft. In addition these objects were all illuminated with a constant orange glow. I noted it odd at the time that they were unchanging in brightness i.e no flashing warning beacons which aircraft have to have at night.

Ball Of Orange Fire Over Chesterfield Derbyshire UK

Time: 6:45 p.m.

Really odd ball of ‘fire’ sounded like an aircraft engine, but looked like it was on fire, but not in distress or crashing. As it passed over head it seemed higher and then about 2 minutes after it disappeared and was a bright orange dot on the horizon about 1 minute after that.

Really odd was not flying high enough for a jet and too fast for a balloon and was too bright, even if the sun was shining off it!

That was at 18:45 today!

Orange Object Seen Over Chesterfield Derbyshire UK

Chesterfield Derbyshire at around 21.30 on first of September 2010 my wife and I saw a orange orb in the sky it was traveling quite fast towards us then it slowed up there was no sound coming from it then it started to retreat backwards then shot off towards east then light disappeared and left a shadow traveling in an easterly direction.

Chinese Lanterns Observed Over Sheffiled Chesterfield UK

Time: Before midnight and afterwards.

Wish someone would look into these lights. I've seen them on two occasions, my mum witnessed them New Years eve too. I've seen other reports, numerous ones on the net for Sheffiled Chesterfield and over various places witnessing them. I'd put it down to Chinese lanterns, but they all seem to follow the same line and too far apart to be tied together, well some of them are. Tuesday night I saw over 12. I've heard one report of over 50. I saw two just before New Years and my mum saw up to a dozen on New Years eve.

Any idea what these lights are? I felt I could hear an humming sound, like a dull bi-plane, but not enough noise for what you would expect to come from 12 of them. Something weird is going on and I've seen a video on Youtube of them over Chesterfield and Newcastle looking exactly like what I saw, but more sporadic in the sky. The ones I saw apart from about 3 of them, seemed to follow the same line in the sky.

Hope this helps with other reports you been having on these lights, but I can best explain them looking like street lights following each other in the sky.

Round Orange Flamed Lights Over Chesterfield Derbyshire UK

Shape of Objects: Round orange flamed like lights.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: My husband and I was looking at the fireworks outside, when we noticed 2 flamed like circles heading towards our house. We opened the front door to get a better look, there was no sound at all coming from these objects. Later about 12:10am we looked out of the window again only to see more of these object's coming from the sky. This is something that we have never seen before in our lives'.

Two Balls Of Orange Light Over Chesterfield Derbyshire UK

Time: Approx: 12:30 a.m.

Hi, I saw two large orange balls of light in the sky. They followed the curvature of the Earth and came singularly, one disappearing low before the second appeared to my vision. They travelled from West to East, low down, looking much like the ISS (International Space Station), picking up reflected light and glowing brightly, and then fading before setting. But this/these UFOs were orange. As the reflected light on them faded, they became smaller and fainter, exactly like a satellite or the ISS would act, until it wasn't possible to see them at all with the naked eye before they set.

My parents were leaving my house when we saw the first two, and then I went in, but Mum saw another less than half a minute later. Again, large and orange, following the same trajectory, so I know there were at least three sightings around that time. Regards.

Whittington Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England Approximately 20 Orange Orbs

Number of objects: 20 approximately.
Shape of objects: Not certain- orange/orbs.
Weather Conditions: Fairly clear- cloud cover 5k approx.

Description: We saw several clusters of bright amber lights, two parallel rows of approximately four/six objects to the formation, travelling slowly from East Stavely to West Sheffield direction. They were just below the cloud cover estimated at approx 5k ft at an estimated speed equivalent to an aircraft standard approaching speed 150/ 200 kn/mls hr! They stayed in view for about 5/10 mts, they then dispersed/disappeared into cloud.

TV/Radio: I reported the sighting to the local Derbyshire police HQ who took the details and confirmed it logged. We also contacted the local BBC Sheffield Radio Stn, who announced the sighting and asked for further witnesses to contact their researcher.

Brimington, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England 6 To 10 Objects

Shape of objects: Could not distinguish.
Weather Conditions: Clear and dry.

Description: Around 19.30 my dad called me to come and look outside. We could see approximately 6-10 objects in the sky coming towards our house. They were flying at a fair speed but there was no sound of any engines or motors. We thought they may have been balloons but they all seemed to follow the exact same pattern or course, where a balloon would move about in the breeze. They were emitting a light which looked like a flickering flame. It was difficult to give an exact altitude but I'd guess at few hundred feet up. My brother who lives approx 2 miles away saw them too and told me the next day. They were in the sky for around 5-10 minutes then they disappeared one after another all in about the same position in the sky. I captured the event on my mobile but when I went to view the video the file did not save.

Looking at the video link there is a good chance what we saw were balloons. After seeing the clip id say I'm 80% certain that's what they were. Thanks for clearing that up for us its been bugging us all week to what they were. Cheers.

Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England Three Spherical Object

Shape of objects: Spherical.
Weather Conditions: Heavy downpours during the day, but dry at night.

Description: It was around 10.15 pm and I saw what looked at first to be an aircraft travelling in a northerly direction with its lights on. What made me notice it more was that it was a brighter colour than a normal aircraft. It appeared to hover for a while and this is when the colour got brighter. Then behind it there appeared two more lights, exactly the same as the first. These were moving at the same speed and side by side. It was as if the first light had slowed down somewhat, waiting for the other two to catch up. They seemed to hover for a while and then move a little way, then they travelled off at the same speed as a helicopter in a more north westerly direction. The first one leading the way, with the other two following behind.

There was no sound, and I have watched the UFO balloon clip. These were certainly not balloons. They could not have moved as they did. I have never seen a balloon stop and start and then move off into the distance at that speed.
