Hello, I too saw the very bright light travelling fast across the sky around 2140 hrs and would be interested to know what it was, as it appeared to be low down in the sky compared to the stars out.

Bright Light With Orange Yellow Tail Over Stockport Northwest England Cheshire UK

Time:  Approx: 9:45 p.m.

 

About 9:45 p.m. this evening March 3rd, 2012, over the Stockport (north west England Cheshire area) I saw what started as a very bright light travelling towards me and past me in the sky.

 

I noticed it had a very long bright orange/yellow trail.

 

Travelling north south direction. I thought it may have been a firework, continued to watch it for approximately 40 seconds. The tail seemed to get smaller and object disappeared out of view.

 

It would be interesting to know what this was?

 

It seems to me that if it was a meteor then it was very large?

Object With Huge Fire Trail Behind Then The Lights Went Out At Stockport UK

I seen it, I was travelling on the M-60 just past Stockport. It shot straight above us and had a huge fire trail behind it, then it all went dark.

Black Disc Shaped UFO Observed Over Offerton Stockport UK

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I sat watching TV when I noticed a black object in the distance. I went to have a look with my binoculars in back garden, when to my surprise I a black disc moving towards me. There was no sound and
it seem to be turning one way, then the other.

 

It  was about 250-300 feet in the air as a rough estimate. It was 20-30 feet in diameter. As it went over my house I went to my front door, expecting to get another view, but it had disappeared.

 

It had only took me 15 seconds to go from my back garden. If you can shed any light on my sighting, please e-mail me. It could be a blimp, but how can it just disappear

Fast Moving Orange Glowing Object Over High Lane Stockport UK

Time: Evening.

Hi, last Friday (April 29 2011) I witnessed the same phenomenon (I’m in High Lane Stockport). My first thought was that it was a military jet igniting afterburners, but it was far too close to Manchester airport flight path and approach, and not even close to Woodford approach. I ran to the west looking window and it suddenly shot skyward and disappeared.

If it was a jet with afterburners, why didn’t I hear the noise? Even here in High Lane, I can often hear the sound of commercial jetliners reversing thrust at Manchester airport. I estimate that what I saw was only 3 or 4 miles way and low on the horizon. I can’t believe that even if it was a military or experimental aircraft that it would have been allowed to fly in civil airspace.

Fast Moving Bright Orange Light Davenport Stockport Cheshire UK

Hi there, I was out walking my dog on Friday 28th Jan when I saw this very bright orange light moving rapidly across the sky over Davenport, Stockport Cheshire at around 22.30. I thought the Aliens had found earth.

Have not seen it tonight though, there is time yet.

Large Pink Purple Ball With Tail Seen Over Stockport UK

HI, after leaving work in Stockport last night at around 5:00pm. I joined the M60 motorway at junction 27 heading towards Altrincham. Just before the pyramid junction on the driver’s side, I’m sure I saw through my front window a large pink/purple ball shape with what looked like a long tail.

A bit commit looking. It seemed to be going very fast and then suddenly disappeared. It defiantly wasn’t a lantern. It also seemed quite low.

High Pitched Rattles Windows Over Burnage/Heaton Mersey Stockport Cheshire UK

Time: Approx: 4:30 a.m.

Brian, A neighbor of mine highlighted an incident on Wednesday morning at approximately 4:30am. He had got up to use the bathroom only to be interrupted by two high pitched noise’s, (separated by a few seconds) and then rattling of the house windows, following each noise.

The adjacent road has speed bumps and vehicles travelling at high speed ‘’bottom out’’ scrapping the body work, which was not heard on this occasion, nor did the noise have a build up as with a helicopter or plane, and subsequent decrease.

His impression was of something travelling at high speed, creating some pressure wave? Location Burnage/Heaton Mersey border on Barcicroft Road, Stockport Cheshire. Just wondered if any other reports had cropped up? Regards.

5 Red Lights Observed Over Romiley Near Stockport UK

Time: Approx: 6:15 p.m.

Hi, my name is (name removed). On Friday the 12/2/10 at approximately 6.15 in the evening I was travelling home and as I joined the M60 from the M67 at Denton heading toward Stockport I noticed 5 red lights seemingly to be hovering over head.

They were moving slowly in no formation and then one disappeared, the rest carried on hovering. I could not stop longer as I was on the hard shoulder. Later that evening in Romiley near Stockport I spotted 3 more this was about 9:00 pm.

Then on Sunday as I was leaving Boysnope Golf club in Irlam saw another 2 both hovering but no engine noise. I stopped and pointed them out to my partner we watched then one moved away. As I arrived home I noticed one directly above are home slowly moving but no engine noise. Can you explain what they are please? Regards.

Hyde, NR Stockport, Cheshire, England Six Bright Reddish/Yellow Orbs

Number of objects: 6
Shape of objects: Bright reddish/yellow sparkly orbs. Must have been very large spheres as were 1/2000 feet up - at first thought they were helicopters but as they went over realized there was no sound and the light was contained within the orbs - no headlights etc.
Weather Conditions: clear night - no wind.

Description: Each one went over at 2/3 minute intervals, no sound, travelling from North to Southwest. Moved swiftly but in a straight line. Each one went along the same flight path.

We are right on the landing flight path for Manchester Airport, but these were not anything I have seen before.

My next door neighbor watched them go over at the same time, also the proprietor of a small off license nearby and a passing lady pedestrian (who was a little frightened/spooked by them).

Completely round - didn't look anything like the UFO balloons on your site.

TV/Radio: Not heard of any media coverage.

Stockport Express Newspaper Article Quoting Myself And Nick Pope

The Stockport Express newspaper just put out an a news article which involved reports of UFO sightings over Stockport in the U.K. A nice reporter from the Stockport Express by the name of Matthew Davis contacted me a while ago for some information on sightings in there area, and most recently Matthew Davis sent me a picture of three orange lights in the photo. Matthew asked for my input about the objects in the photo which I gladly provided suggesting the orange lights were Chinese lanterns. Which I do believe to this day.

I guess Matthew also contacted Nick Pope in the U.K. for his input, Nick admits that there have been alot of lanterns reported sightings in the UK, but in this case with the picture the newspaper received, Nick believes it may not be lanterns, but rather a large UFO. The lights were is a triangular formation when the photo was taken.

Well I thought I would add a report that came into me today, in other words a eyewitness to these orange lights. They were indeed lanterns and not a large UFO which was suggested by Nick Pope. The reason why I am writing this little bit up is, we don't want to make a mountain out of a mole hill. These were nothing more than lanterns, not some giant UFO !

Stockport UFO sighting (Sept 30th)

Today's Stockport Express (Stockport, England) quotes you (Brian) as saying that recent sightings like this one turned out to be Chinese lanterns.
I can confirm that this was absolutely true in this case.

The lanterns passed at low altitude over my house and you see quite clearly what they were. They had obviously been released one at a time and were therefore spaced slightly apart.

As they gained height and speed in the wind they kept 'formation' and were clearly visible for the next 45 minutes or so. I can fully understand why they were reported as UFOs. Sadly they weren't.

Cheadle Hulme Stockport UK White Object Returns From Where It Came From

Weather Conditions: Clear night, minimal cloud cover.

Description: Me and my girlfriend were walking back from a friends house when we looked up to gaze at the stars as it was a clear night and that's strange enough for Stockport. Anyway we thought we were looking at a shooting star, when it changed direction and went back on its self. It then moved in a semi circular motion, stopped and then vanished. I would have never mentioned this if i was on my own, but the fact is we both saw the same thing. I have looked into theories, and we may have seen a passing satellite but the movement of one of those would have gone in one direction ( i think ) so who knows.

Description: Two round objects, red in colour, moving together slowly across the sky, Initially thought they were high altitude aircraft, but not strobe flashes seen, they got brighter for a minute then one faded to nothing and other a minute later.

Bramhall Stockport England Grey Cigar Shaped UFO

Shape of objects: Sort of like a hotdog shape and it was grey.
Weather Conditions: It was winter so would have just been going dark.

Description: Hovering above houses quite high, me my mum and my sister all saw it, it wasn't moving in the air though and we watched it as we drove down the road. Then it just disappeared totally. It didn't have lights or anything was just grey and hovering. It was definitely a UFO!
