Orange Lights Makes Triangular Plaque/UFO Over Te Anau New Zealand

Date:  July 11, 2014
Time:  Approximately 8:00 p.m.

Hi, I would like to report to you what my friend and I saw in Te Anau, New Zealand on the night of Friday July 11, 2014. It was around 8:00 p.m. We saw 3 carrot-orange lights in the sky moving slowly altogether with same distance to each other, with absolutely no noise.

They stopped moving from north to south (we were a few meters from the lake edges) and turned together as in a half circle, slowly. What strikes me was that those 3 glowing lights were still keeping at same distance to each other, even when turning so that they were making a perfect equilateral triangle (at least from where I was watching).

My friend said she could distinguish a triangular plaque/object. I cannot assert that because there were some clouds that could have been taken for some flat object maintaining the 3 spots (I am missing precise English words, sorry, I am non English speaker).

We could see that for about 4 minutes, then the lights shut off one after the other, and, funny thing that we discovered one hour later,  my friend's watch had stopped functioning from about that moment.

These lights looking like spots were in the clouds, so quite big for that heights, which excludes , for my belief, Chinese lanterns, but I can be wrong.

I would love to know what it was. Could it be some silent secret engine of the Army? I am wondering since on our way to Te Anau we had passed by a military area.

Thank you in advance if you could let us know about that and if other people there at that time also saw this.

3 Red Glowing Lights/Objects Flew Over Te Atatu Auckland New Zealand

Date:  End of July 2011
Time:  Evening.

Hi Brian, I just wanted to advise that my husband and I also saw three reddish glowing lights, like bricks, flying in a triangle, over Te Atatu, Auckland New Zealand. This was a year ago, end of July 2011.

We were going to a friend's birthday in the evening. Reason we are recording this is because we again went to the party end of July this year, and remembered.

I Googled and found others have seen the same thing in different parts of the world.

A few people were standing on the footpath looking up at them, so we stopped the car to see what they were watching. As we watched, the lights slowly faded out and disappeared, though I am sure they were still up there travelling, but in darkness.

They were too far apart to be connected to each other. Kind regards.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Clear Spherical UFO Bobbing In The Sky Over Te Atatu Peninsula Auckland New Zealand

Date: April 13, 2011
Time: Between 0930 and 1000 hours.

Number of witnesses: 1
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Spherical.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: On a clear wind free morning I observed in an easterly direction at a 60 degree angle from me at the far end of Te Atatu Road an almost clear sphere bobbing along in the sky. It appeared at first to be plastic bag, but I noticed immediately that it’s movements were irregular.

It moved in a rhythmic shallow arc, pausing at the top of the arc .It did this about five or six times to the right, then changed direction quickly to the left. It was then I noticed when the sun 'caught it', it had a centre to it and it appeared to radiate from the centre lines like a dandelion observed from above.

It was partially see-through in appearance, so it looked blue like the sky behind it. It sort of glistened. When it had changed direction suddenly to the left, I reached for my sunglasses to take them off for a better view. While I was watching and removing my sunglasses, it sped away from me at the same angle I was observing from, so quickly I realized then that it was very big and very far away.

This all took about ten seconds. I have excellent un-assisted eyesight, I am a 43 year old truck driver in good health. I was closing up my truck after unloading in a yard with no other witnesses, dammit. I have had two other UFO sightings in my life.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

2 Silent Red Lights Over Te Anau Southland New Zealand (Chinese Lanterns/Wish Lanterns)

Update To Sighting Report.

Date: November 12, 2010
Time: 9:55 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Te Anau Southland New Zealand.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 2
Shape of Objects: Luminescent circular.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Te Anau has beautiful clear skies due to it’s remote and pristine location, we are used to seeing aircraft, particularly helicopters and light aircraft overhead. But my partner and I also saw the strange and silent red light over the town on Friday 12th November. In fact we saw two - within ten minutes of each other - following a similar trajectory across the sky.

The coloring and size of these objects confirmed for us that they could not be aircraft or satellites, they were too low, too bright and a strange circular shape. I am certain that many other citizens of the town will have seen this phenomenon but, like the previous writer and ourselves, be reluctant to give our names or details for fear of ridicule.

We have been watching the skies with mixed hope and fear for many years and this is the strangest thing we have ever seen. Again, we would very much like others to confirm what we saw so we may be in a position to 'go public'.

Update:

Hi, we've been sent a link to your Blogspot - http://worldufos.blogspot.com/2010/11/red-light-observed-from-lake-te-anau.html

Please explain to your observant spotter this explanation:

Two words = Sky Lantern

Friday night in Te Anau included a Divali party (it's the biggest Hindu festival and very awesome), we celebrated a week late to ensure we weren't seen to be celebrating terrorism ("Guy Fawkes" which is also celebrated locally), I couldn't get white sky lanterns and procured 10 red ones from www.trademe.co.nz

They were big red tissue paper heart editions (usually for weddings), we had possibly 10 witnesses to the launch of 4, in two lots of two during evening, we gave 5 away as presents as part of the festivities and have one left which your anonymous spotter is welcome to have (ask them to go to the Fiordland Cinema and identify themselves, or Trips and Tramps).

At night they glow and there is a chance the night watcher might have seen the cardboard burning beneath the basically paper hot air balloon before is burnt out, all organic biodegradable components of course.

We only have one local night flyer who was not in the airspace at the time of launch.

Hope this helps.

Brian Vike’s Note: I would like to thank the folks for sending along the information which gave the answer to what the witness saw, which was Chinese lanterns/Wish lanterns or which ever one wants to call them, as there is numerous names for these lanterns and yes, even UFO Balloons.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Red Light Observed From Lake Te Anau Southland (Chinese Lanterns/Wish Lanterns)

Date: November 12, 2010
Time: Approx: 9:55 p.m.

I just saw a red light fly through the sky. It appeared in the sky from nowhere and came steadily closer. At first I thought it was a helicopter or plane, but the light was bright and steady (not flashing). I was waiting to hear it, but there was no noise. I kept watching and it came closer and closer still no noise.

I rushed inside to grab my camera and when I came back out, it went through a bit of very light cloud (wouldn't ordinarily block out anything) and I thought well, it must be higher up than I thought. It's a pretty clear night, so it will appear again out the other side, but that was it, gone. I didn't see again.

It was about 9:55pm over Lake Te Anau, Southland. Coming from the west/northwest heading east/southeast

Normally this wouldn't concern me as anything different, the thing that got me is that there was no sound at all. Here surrounded by mountains you can hear aircraft from miles away and that it just disappeared into nowhere.

I don't know, very mysterious. I want to know what it was. Would also be interested if anyone else seen it. Am reluctant to give my name, it's a small town and people will think I've gone crazy.

Thanks.
