6 To 8 Orange Lights In A V Pattern Over Perthshire Scotland UK
Date: September 21, 2012
Time: Evening.
I was relaxing on my sofa watching TV when I spotted them through the living room window which looks to the south towards the Saidlaw hills.
Being a pilot myself and having flown for 12+ years both day and night it was instantly apparent these were not aircraft NAV lights I was seeing so I went outside to the front door to have a closer look.
There were 6-8 orange lights in a loose V formation travelling from approx north east to south west and I watched them for approx 1 min travel down the valley towards the Perth area before losing sight, there was no noise at all.
Over the years I've seen many aircraft flying at night from both the ground and the air with military aircraft passing beneath me on several occasions, but these did not match that configuration in any way.
We have a very clear view of the night sky from here being in the countryside and I have seen many meteors over the years but these lights did not have any sort of 'tail' that you would associate with a meteor burning up in the atmosphere.
It was difficult to estimate speed as I have no grasp of their size but if they were approx aircraft size I would estimate they were travelling at approx 400-500kts given how quickly the went out of sight.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share that with you if it helps any. Regards.
If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.
Also, please feel free to send in your sightings that have happened years ago. So many of these older sightings are nothing short of amazing.

4 Orange Lights Over Grandtully Perthshire Scotland UK (New Years)
Date: January 1, 2010
Time: Approx: 00.20 a.m.
Hi, My husband eldest son and myself were all looking out of our living room window a short while ago after the bells, at the fire works going off over the river from us, when in the other direction I noticed 4 orange lights in the sky, all very close together and moving to fast to be any aircraft and also there was no noise! (The fireworks had now finished)
After a few seconds another light came over the hill, then all the five lights seemed to all go in a line approx the same distance apart from one another.
We then all went out the front door to have a look and see if there was some noise (there was none) however when we all got outside the lights had all separated going in different directions apart from one, the other four lights disappeared, one of them going very fast over the hill in the direction of Pitlochry, the fifth remaining light stayed where we could see it, but still moving sporadically, eventually seeming to go higher up until it disappeared!
The reason that I am getting in touch with you is that on Christmas Eve we also saw the same thing, but with only one light!
We were driving to deliver some Christmas presents to friends when I saw the orange light in the sky and said to my husband about the bright light and that it was moving very fast, he pulled over and got out the car to have a closer look, again there was no noise, it moved very fast for quite a distance in a straight line, then it suddenly stopped, moved to the right, back again, and then shot back the way it came, veering off to the left and again disappearing!
We thought that the light was bizarre and told friends and family who all laughed at us suggesting that it may in fact have been a UFO, but after seeing the bizarre lights and the movements again tonight, we would like to see if there is something in this!
We live in Grandtully, Perthshire, Scotland, which is where we saw the lights tonight at approx 00.20 am, however on Christmas Eve we saw the lights when driving through Aberfeldy at approx 17.15 pm.
If there is an explanation to these lights we would love to know!
Is there anyone else that saw these lights at these times?
Cheers.

Blair Atholl Perthshire Scotland U.K. Video Shows Object To Be Diamond In Shape (Pictures)
Posted: April 21, 2009
Date: April 18, 2009
Time: 10:10 p.m. & 10:55 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Blair Atholl Perthshire Scotland U.K.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 3
Shape of Objects: To naked eye. Roundish video shows it to be a diamond shape.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: 10.10pm - A very bright fiery red light was seen travelling apparently slowly in a westerly direction. The light was flickering, the object was silent, there was no wind and the sky clear and starry, no moon. It's progress was steady, quickly getting fainter and smaller suggesting that it was moving at speed and climbing steeply (if it had not been climbing it would soon have been hidden by the hills) it was soon just a faint dot and gone. Total observation 2-3 minutes
10.55pm - From the same location another was seen exactly the same followed 30 seconds by another they also travelled westrly following roughly the same path as the other at 10.10pm. Their description is exactly as the first, flickering very bright fiery red and silent. Their progress was also no different, fading to nothing in a few minutes. Total observation 3-5 minutes
The direction of travel was to Kinloch Rannoch some 15 miles (as crow flies) where an earlier observation was reported 1/1/2009. My nearest obs point was approx 1 mile. Linked circumstantially but not physically observed. Was that directly over head appeared a very bright light moving NW 1-2 minutes after each of the observation times i.e.10.13pm to 10.15pm and again at 10.58pm to 11.03. This light was 4 times as bright as Venus and speed similar to a passenger airliner at cruise height, not on a normal flight path though and silent, this light continued NW faded very quickly. I could not guess at the speed of any of the objects as being dark there was nothing to gauge them by.
This in many ways is simmilar to the 1 January 2009 report on Kinloch Rannoch where 5 objects were seen, to assist in any investigation, where the observer was told of military test grounds nearby. There are no military test grounds anywhere near Kinloch Rannoch, all areas are totally unrestricted for anybody at any time excepting during the Deer Stalking when it is advised to ask estate managers to access hills etc. RAF uses all of the Scottish Highlands for low level flying this is always noisy. If I can find an email address I will send you extracted from video photos these are unfortunately black and white, but unedited.
Thank you to the witness for the report and photos of what was observed.

Kinloch Rannoch, Perthshire, Scotland UK Round Balls Of Orange Light
Posted: January 1, 2009
Date: December 31, 2008
Time: 8:45 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Kinloch Rannoch, Perthshire, Scotland UK.
Number of witnesses: 4
Number of objects: 5
Shape of objects: Sphere.
Full Description of event/sighting: While spending Hogmany at Loch Rannoch, my girlfriend and I spotted four round balls of orange light which seemed to be about a thousand feet above us and about halfway over the loch. The loch sits in a long Glenn and is surrounded by mountains and it seemed as though the lights were traveling beneath the height of the mountains. They followed an exact flight path to one another and were separated by equal intervals.A fifth one then appeared and joined the formation as the first one reached about the end of the loch and it faded away. Each one then did the same thing and faded away when reaching the same point. These lights were an orange colour and were round and about the size of a car.As they passed very slowly by and were very close to us I was astonished to hear not the slightest sound, nothing! There was no wind whatsoever so as far as I could tell they seemed to float past us.This was witnessed by other people outside the hotel and by some hotel staff. A staff member claimed there was military test ground nearby and lights etc are not unusual.
Thank you to the witness for their report.

Time: 10:30 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Above Auchtearder, Perthshire, Scotland. UK.
Number of witnesses: 3
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Indeterminate but possibly circular.
Full Description of event/sighting: Seen in the immediate foreground at about 3000 feet. A bright glowing light, hovering, at first thought it was a hot air balloon but the object moved steadily North at a constant speed it then increased speed to a phenomenal rate and disappeared in 2/3 seconds. No noise heard. It was NOT a jet engine or even a fighter jet/helicopter. No noise heard. Witnessed by 3 people. Looking through binoculars it was still unclear what the object was. Most odd. Clear night 17 degree C mainly cloudless sky.
