60 Bright Lights And A Beam Shaped Flying Opaque UFO In The Sky Over Cheltenham U.K.

Date:  December 31, 2012 and January 1, 2013
Time:  11:50 p.m. and 12:42 a.m.

Sighting of 3 bright moving lights at 11:50 p.m. on December 31st 2012 seen from a garden in Cheltenham UK. Coming from the southwest.

No sound heard and lights moving quickly, definitely not fireworks.

Later as many as 60 similar lights seen coming from the southwest. At 12:42 a.m. 2013 a bean shaped flying opaque object seen with a red light at the tip.

The red light later moved around as though the object had moved in a different direction. This was reported by a trustworthy person who has not previously believed in UFO sightings.

Flaming Orange Ball Of Light Over Pitville Area Of Cheltenham UK

Date: January 25, 2011
Time: 7:49 p.m.

Brian, I am new to this! Was on way home from gym near Pitville area of Cheltenham. I've just Googled to see if anything was seen about tonight over Cheltenham. An orange dot becoming brighter, like orange flames within an air balloon lampshade, although I could not make out the shape.

It disappeared after a good 50 seconds behind a strand of cloud and was moving purposely towards the direction of town centre. Lots of street lights and suburbia where I was standing by the park, yet this orange glow was moving over me and was so obvious. It wasn’t anything like a shooting star or plane in motion.

I'd say it was quite close and lower than any star or plane. With binoculars I could have seen it very clearly. I feel it was quite low.

I'm going to look online for more and wonder if others saw it. I imagine they must of if out walking dogs etc..

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Fast Moving Bright Orange Ball Of Light Over Cheltenham UK

Date: September 4, 2010
Time: Evening.

Hi Brian, In reply to your site about a bright orange glare over Cheltenham, my boyfriend saw a (what only can be described as) a bright orange dot, that rapidly became bigger the closer it got, to which he could make out appeared to be a mass of bright orange flames that reflected onto something above it.

He described it as a hot air balloon on fire (when he first saw it) and could actually see flames though as the object got closer it was far too big, in fact enormous and travelling at thousands of miles per hour, he shouted upstairs to me, but I ignored him as I was doing my hair (lol) he kept shouting so I came downstairs and is a the tail end of it for 3-4 seconds disappear into the night sky, it travelled from the right side of my house from a distance to the very left in the distant sky, that is when I saw an orange dot disappear. It wasn’t a shooting star as I have seen one of these before. Bizarre! (my boyfriend thought at the beginning it was going to crash into the earth)

Be good to hear if you have heard any more? I tweeted it on my twitter and a few people from Cheltenham have been seeing them all week, not sure if I believe it but they said it might be an International Space station? Kindest Regards.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Bright Orange Lights Above Cheltenham UK

Date: September 4, 2010
Time: Approx: 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Tonight 04/09/10 between about 2030 and 2130 my son and I saw bright lights above Cheltenham on four separate occasions. The lights were very bright which brought my attention to the first one. When I looked out of the window I thought it must have been a plane or helicopter heading for Staverton, but it was much higher than normal and disappeared behind the cloud which was very light.

Approximately 10 minutes later my son called me unaware of what I had seen, to show me another light exactly the same, but further west which I also observed. Minutes later we both together saw another light to the north. The lights were visible on all occasions for about 15 seconds and disappeared behind patchy cloud, but did not re-appear when expected

I would describe them all as a single solid bright orange colour. There was no aircraft noise and were far brighter than plane lights which would have been flashing anyway. I have seen many shooting stars before, but these were much slower. Let me know if you had any other reports of sightings this evening or if you have any idea what they might have been. Regards.

Orange Pulsating Lights Hesters Way Cheltenham UK

Date: August 10, 2010
Time: 10:17 p.m.

Hi there, my son and I have just witnessed a fourth fiery-orange pulsating orb from our place in Hesters Way Cheltenham.

This time it's a clear night (10:17pm, 10/08/2010) with minimal cloud cover, and the orb is travelling towards Fairford (estimated), on a reverse course of the previous 3 sightings. Apart from that, nothing has changed.

The timings of the sightings are very similar, the flight paths are similar (except for tonight's reversal), the orb is the same colour and type as previously sighted, no other lights, no sound, this time moving slightly faster (visual estimate still matches expected aircraft, ie jet landing approach or post take off speeds).

This has to be a stealth aircraft, following military protocol (hence no navigation lights), but using predefined air routes, potentially employing hitherto unknown technology (hence the visual appearance).
It can't be a balloon, as it is following the opposite path to previous observations, and from what I can tell, the wind is low, and has not changed direction.

I will try and get a more precise fix on heading so I can confirm whether these sightings are heading from/toward Fairford (where I know there are 2 B1 Spirit Stealth Bombers).

I look forward to someone else confirming these sightings.

Seen Orange Light On Three Different Nights Over Cheltenham UK

Date: August 7, 2010
Time: 10:27 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Cheltenham.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Round.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I have now seen this same orange light travelling across the sky in the same direction, three times. It is silent when it is flying, when I first saw it, I thought that someone had set off a flare. On one occasion my boyfriend saw the orange light.

I have to add that it is always around the same time on a Saturday night.

As this is the third time that I have seen this light, I decided to Google what I have seen, which has led me to your website. I have noted that there has been alot of sightings in the Cheltenham area.

My first thought is that it is some kind of military aircraft as it is strange that it is always on the same day on the same night.

I sit at the same window every night as I don't smoke in my home, I always sit at the same place to have a cigarette, so I would see the light if it was on any other night too but it doesn't appear any other night.

I find this really strange and I would love to know what this orange, flying light is and why it only appears on a Saturday night!

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Bright Red Round Light/UFO Over Cheltenham England UK

Date: August 8, 2010
Time: 11:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Cheltenham England UK.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Bright red round light.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: At 11:00pm I looked out of the window to the west and saw a large red light (it did not have a beam of light coming from it) appear slowly over the roof of the houses and make it's way towards me in an easterly direction. It seemed to speed up and slow down significantly and did not travel in a straight line like a plane or satellite would.

There was no sound and the light did not flash, so I doubt it was a helicopter. I told my boyfriend and he came and looked at it too. It moved quickly towards us and then seemed to almost become stationary roughly over a nearby cemetery and fields a few hundred meters away from our house in a northerly direction.

Over the course of about a minute, it very slowly moved slightly east to the point that we had to move to the other side of our house to get a better view out of an east facing window and it was still moving very little. It then suddenly seemed to move straight up into the atmosphere until it disappeared. The whole episode lasted for about 2 1/2 - 3 minutes. I don't know really how far away the light was but the best way I can describe it is as being about the size of a helicopter search light (without the beam) when it is down low and searching. However I don't think that this red light was as low down as a helicopter would be when searching, so it may be that the light was much bigger but further away. Thanks.

UFOs Seen From Cheltenham G.C.H.Q UK

Date: June 15, 2010
Time: 03.30 hrs

Hi Brian, OK something strange is going on in the UK. I have already reported an sighting of orbs around the Cheltenham G.C.H.Q area and I am lucky enough to report three more. The first started at 03.30 hrs on the 15th of June. I was about to go to bed when I happened to glance out of my south facing window, only to see a bright white object gliding towards me. I ran to the balcony to get a better look and to catch it turning in an arc towards the southeast. I ran out to get a better look. By the time I got outside, I managed to view it coming to a stand still.

I tried to eradicate all possibilities of what this object could be. A satellite would not turn or stop and it seemed to be geostationary. It was also unnaturally bright and not twinkling as a star does, I checked my Stellarium program. Neptune and Jupiter are far too low for me to see and there are no other planets visible to me at that azimuth. The object stayed there until daybreak and it was still visible when all other stars were not. I decided to stay up the next night to check if it may be a satellite Stellarium doesn't have logged. At 2:30am I was having a ciggy on my balcony when I saw it again, coming from the S.W.

This time I grabbed my neighbour as a witness. It gilded towards the S.E and sat low on the horizon. My neighbour witnessed it's size, brightness and movement as it sat in front of our eyes. The object repositioned itself to the previous nights azimuth, just sitting there. We watched it for an hour or so and we were about to go in when another appeared from due west at a tremendous speed, it flew over our heads with the same intensity as the other and continued due east and out of sight.

I will add we know what satellites look like. These objects seemed to be within our atmosphere and seemed to be emitting their own light far too low. I also checked the satellite sites to see if I could ID them, but I could find none. The ISS is low in Scorpio and hardly comes into view from where I am. I stayed up last night if only to find out all I had been looking at was a bright star, but nothing was there. My neighbour even made the point of coming up and saying "look it's not there we saw something" I will keep you posted for further events. The UK seems to have a wave of these high altitude objects. I did get a good look at it through my binoculars, it seemed to have a teardrop shape to it. It would seem to power up or flash periodically, not twinkle or display atmospheric colours.

Thanks mate, I thought you should know.

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom A Round Glowing Orange Object

Posted: May 24, 2009

Date: April 18, 2009
Time: 22.45

Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 2
Shape of objects: Round.
Weather conditions: Clear skies, no cloud or ground wind.

Description: I was watching the tv when I saw what I thought might have been a flare rise up into the sky (the ones you put up when your lost) It rose from the north East and then travelled off to the South West. I got the binoculars out to see if I could identify the object, and my partner couldn't tell either.

It was traveling at about plane speed but wasn't flashing and then disappeared into the dark sky, as we were coming back inside the house, we saw another orange glow travelling to the North, I checked online to see if it was the ISS but that was over Arkansas at the time. (so it wasn't that or Jules Verne).

I notice some one in Dursley saw the same kind of thing a week before.

Does anyone have any idea what they were?

TV/Radio: I asked on Yahoo questions but no-one could confirm my sighting.

Cheltenham - North Of Cheltenham Racecourse Round Balloon Shaped Objects

Posted: July 1, 2008

Date: June 28, 2008
Time: 10:00 p.m.

Number of witnesses: 4
Number of objects: 6
Shape of objects: Round like balloon shapes, with orange in them, they just looked like lit up balloons and flimsy but moved very quickly.
Weather Conditions: Dry, windy, cloudy, some clear skies.

Description: Round like balloon shapes, looked like they had flame inside a balloon, they were all orange, they came from the south and went north in a sweeping formation, they were too fast for aircraft and no noise, they followed each other and sweeped past us over Cleeve hill, my wife, daughter and mother-in-law, thought it was some kind of joke, but it lasted about 1/2 minutes and it got more scary as they all followed each other, I can only think the color was like looking at a hot air balloon when it fires the gas, but they were quite small and glowing, I have never seen anything like this nor can think of anything that it/they may have been. Does anybody have a rationale explanation, and more importantly it was witnessed by several members of the family.

TV/Radio: No.
