Date: July 21, 2011
Time: Approx: 11:15 p.m.
Dear Brian, I have just seen five objects, four about 30 seconds apart, fly almost over Hemel Hempstead, possibly from north west to south west passing over south western boundary of Hemel (over Potten end towards Bovingdon). There is a possibility they were following radio beacon at Bovingdon?
The first four came fast, spaced 30 seconds apart and as one passed out of my view the next was in view on same flight path (right to left over approximate 100 degree view before they were shielded from my view by a tree. The fifth one came down the same path about a minute later.
They appeared to be orange balls of large-ish radius, but I could not hear any sound. Due to the speed they passed I'd guess they were around 10,000 feet or so, they passed over more quickly than I'd expect an aircraft. The did not appear to have normal red/green lights or landing light, but if they had the lights could have been obscured by the brightness of the orange light seemingly surrounding them. I thought of Chinese lanterns but surely they were too fast and the light was too intense. I could not see any form to them.
I thought they couldn't be balloons - too fast, all on exact same path, but all seemed silent.
They could be aircraft for same reasons above, but were silent, possibly military or spy stuff?
They couldn't have been meteorites as path curved slightly and no trail, round ball of light effect.
Time of sighting about 23:15 hours Sunday 24 July 2011 - From Grovehill West, Hemel Hempstead looking toward leighton buzzard road.
Additional Information:
Dear Brian, I emailed a short while ago with a sighting in Hemel Hempstead, Herts England.
Sorry just realized I didn't give you the weather conditions, the sky is clear , stars clearly visible, no mist or clouds to horizon, no wind, Also if you're not aware of my locale, Bovingdon is a village about three miles away where an atc beacon is set up at an old wartime airfield to give current aircraft directions. I'm not sure it's still operating though.
I first saw the orange balls from my bedroom as I opened curtains with lights off to go to bed. I watched four pass 30 seconds apart so opened a my window as I couldn't distinguish the shape of the objects, except a ball like glow. Viewing them 'clear' didn't help so I went downstairs and out back of house to get my binocs from the car but saw the fifth one passing on the other side of my house, (viewed from my back garden over the house roof) (it wasn't flying directly over my house, it was probably a mile away, horizontally from my house). I was too late for the binocs to do any good. The fifth one was the last (I think) Hope I'll sleep tonight!!
Could the five objects be military jets flying out or back to train or from/to mission? I thought jets on afterburners give a bluer dancing diamond type jet output and they were elongated glow, not almost spherical glow as here? Also do they have silent jets, or fast, silent jet heli's that do the orange glow thing? No red green lights or landing lights....I'd better go or I'll never sleep!

Bright Light Moving Erratically Over Evergreen Walk Hemel Hempstead UK
Date: January 18, 2011
Time: Approx: 5:45 p.m.Brian, there is a bright light in the sky and possibly can be classed as UFO hovering over Evergreen Walk (Hemel Hempstead) as I type this. At first I thought it was a plane, but then it was to high in the sky and then suddenly shot up 90 degrees and then stopped in mid air. No plane that I know of can do this.
Now it has started to move towards the house in an erratic motion with no distinct motion. It is very bizarre indeed. I have tried to capture it on my mobile phone, but it will not zoom in that close and I do not have a video camera, I’m gutted.
Really, really not sure what this object is, but it isn't no plane, helicopter or anything else like that. Maybe we are not alone? Its motion is so strange, moving from left to right in a glittered type of motion and then stops and then starts then stops then start then moves left then right then up then down then left and in a circular motion. What is it?
It also isn't no bloody Chinese lamp I can tell you and it’s been there from 5:45pm this evening.
If you have a telescope take a look at the sky in this direction, if you can from where you are?
Regards.

Orange Red Lights Over Hemel Hempstead UK
Date: January 8, 2011
Time: Approx: 5:40 p.m.
Hi Brian, I just had to tell somebody, I never really believe these sort of things, until I witnessed early evening tonight. My husband and I was going out about 5:40pm 8/1/11 when our neighbor called us to look up to the sky and to see an orangey red light with a slight haze around it moving across the sky. It was moving at a steady speed.
As we watched, three more lights followed within 30 seconds of each other all with the same distance between them, in a straight line all heading towards the Redbourne St. Albans area.
My neighbor quickly called his wife to witness this as well. We had no explanation to what it could have been four bright lights travelling all exactly the same. UFO's ?. Regards, puzzled neighbors.

6 Or 7 Orange Lights Over Hemel Hempstead UK
Date: December 25, 2010
Time: Approx: 8:15 p.m.
Hi there, I just Googled lights in the sky over Herts as at around 8:15pm. I saw 6 or 7 orange lights all move in exactly the same direction over Hemel Hempstead, my mum dad and girlfriend all saw it too. At a total loss to explain it! Please do you have any information? I called the Herts police non-emergency number, but was treated like a total moron, unsurprisingly!

Orange Object Looked Like A Floating Fire Seen Over Hemel Hempstead UK (Chinese Lanterns)
Date: February 7, 2010
Time: Approx: 7:30 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Hemel Hempstead.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of Objects: 2
Shape of Objects: Round/boomerang?
Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was coming back from the shop in Hemel Hempstead when my partner noticed a light in the sky. I said it was a plane, but after looking myself I could see no flashing lights, just what looked like something on fire high in the sky. It was orange and just looked like a small fire floating up high, it was not going particularly fast and just went at a steady pace in a straight line, it definitely was not a shooting star either.
We watched for about 30 seconds until it disappeared into the cloud. After about another minute, we saw another one, same speed and direction only this time I could clearly see what appeared to be something falling from it, like drips of fire were coming from it, there were about five or six of these drips, it was quite unnerving as it went over head. It appeared to be boomerang shaped and there was no noise at any time during watching these objects. I called my brother who is west London (Ealing) he asked if I saw an orange shooting star before, I had even said anything so I am assuming he saw the same thing. What are they?

Hempstead Kent UK 7 Glowing Lights
Posted: March 19, 2009
Date: March 14, 2009
Time: 7:30 - 7:45 p.m.
On Saturday 14/03/09 at 7:30-45pm I was travelling by car with 3 friends and my young son and we saw 7 glowing light suspended just above the roof tops in a residential street in Hempstead Kent (a few miles away from Lordswood re earlier report on your website)
The lights hug silently and were orange and looked like street lights- my friend thinks the lights were shaped like inverted triangles, they did not flicker as you would expect a lantern to do. I was too busy rooting around for my camera, unfortunately, within less than a minute of our sighting the lights began to disappear and I was unable to capture on film. A number of people were gathered on the pavement watching the spectacle so I assume that the lights had been there for some time before we arrived.
I reported the incident to Kent Online (local online newspaper) and I have asked around only to find 2 other people who saw them at around the same time, again over Hempstead. I was therefore very interested to see that they also appeared above Lordswood (the next town along) the same night.
I hope that this is helpful - I would love to know what they were. Regards.
Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.
