Bright Yellow Glowing Sphere Over Orford Warrington UK

Hi, we live in Orford Warrington. On the 9th January 09 at 6.45 p.m., myself, sister and her husband all witnessed a bright yellow glowing sphere moving across the sky and very low down, say no more than 40/50 feet in the air.

 

It was much brighter than the street lights and moving quite fast from south to north towards Winwck. We never saw it approaching as we were chatting down the side of the house which obscured vision, but we saw it as it flew by then and watched as it continued across Peel Hall Park until disappearing into the distance a minute or so later, even though it was very close as it passed. 

 

It was completely silent. Although this left us all baffled, we all knew at that point that this was no conventional air traffic of any description we knew of.

Orford Warrington Cheshire UK A Yellow/White Light

Location of Sighting: Orford Warrington Cheshire.
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Globe-like.

Full Description of event/sighting: Just gone into the garden with the dogs when I saw it coming towards the house. It was a round yellow/white light with what looked like red streamers on the top. (looked as if it was on fire, but only on the top.) It was very much larger than the main light on a nearby aircraft, which fly over here all the time. The light was very intense but was constant, not pulsating. I watched it come towards me for about 2 minutes at which point I was joined by my wife who saw it too. It changed direction at this point and headed over towards Newton-le Willows. As we watched, it got smaller and smaller (obviously) but disappeared before it would have done if it was travelling like any known craft. At all times it's speed remained constant and it maintained level flight for the duration of our sighting which lasted for about 4 minutes.
