Bright Glowing Orange Lights Over Midway Swadlincote UK

Date: November 7, 2010

Time: 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Location of Sighting: Swadlincote/Midway.
Number of witnesses: 3 - Myself, wife and son.
Number of Objects: 4
Shape of Objects: dots in the sky.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I locked my chickens up every night shortly after it gets dark, whilst walking down the garden I witnessed a bright glowing orange light moving slowly and silently across the sky.

Watching it for several minutes, I thought I was watching a plane on fire, but it gradually came to a halt in the sky and over the period of a few minutes the lights got dimmer until they disappeared.

I then took a step back and noticed 2 other orange lights traveling on the same path at the same speed. As they reached the same point as the first object they too stopped dead in the sky and slowly faded from view. (My wife can confirm these 2 lights)

Finally, I walked to the far end of the garden and saw a 4th light far in the distance. This too moved slowly to the same position as the previous lights before coming to a halt before slowly disappearing from view. (my 7 year old son can confirm this light).

The sky was clear at this time of night. I could see fireworks going off in the foreground and aeroplanes dotted around in other areas of the sky. These lights were neither of those. I considered Chinese lanterns, but the precise direction and identical disappearance of all 4 lights intrigued us.

Just wondering if anyone else saw/can explain them?

Orange Ball Of Fire Seen Over Midway Swadlincote UK

Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m.

My husband and I live in Midway, Swadlincote and last night sighted an orange ball of fire (or so the image appeared). It was just before 2200hrs on Sunday 26th September 2010. We observed it from our living room when a ball of orange fire swept past the window at silent speed.

I ran outside, but could not see it for the surrounding buildings, but running upstairs to look from a higher vantage point I could see it higher in the sky moving off into the distance.

Our only solution would be that it was a balloon falling very low and firing up to obtain some gravity, but we could not see the outline of a balloon.

Do you have any answers as we would love to know what we may have seen.

Bright Orange Ball Over Swadlincote In South Derbyshire UK

Time: Approx: 10:25 p.m.

Hi there, my husband was outside at approx: 10:25pm on Saturday, May 22nd when he called me outside. We are based at Swadlincote in South Derbyshire. My daughter and I went outside and was astonished to see a bright orange ball like flame in the sky moving very quickly. It seemed to have a tinge of red to the outside, but traveled silently. As it was moving quite quickly, it disappeared within approx 45 - 60 seconds, so was unable to take a picture, but looking on your forum at the following link: http://www.sightings.com/1.reports2010/strangeglwyork05042010.html a sighting in Conisborough, Yorkshire, this is exactly what we saw on the picture posted. Can you help - what was this? Kind regards.
