Single Orange Light Over Crosby Merseyside UK

I witnessed a single orange light at 6:00pm on 31 October 2010. I live in Crosby Merseyside and it was travelling due west. It was not a plane and the light was steady until it disappeared behind house. I estimate it was travelling at about normal aircraft height.

Crosby, Liverpool U.K A Large Orange Ball

Description: Very bright large orange ball, at 1st I thought a ball of fire, but too solid for that. Much larger than any star, and the speed was faster than anything I'd ever seen in the sky. Came from the North, going inland towards Manchester. Then about 4 or 5 seconds later an other appeared, and followed the same path.

Was not a plane, too bright and too fast, and too big, felt I'd witnessed something special.
