Full Description of Event/Sighting: Two hovering craft in a farmers field, one with two central white lights and two central red lights situated opposite the All Saints Barton Stacey Church in this field.

I was walking up the hill to my house and these two crafts were hovering about 30 meters away from me and hovering about 3 meters off the ground.

It looked like they were communicating with each other. These crafts then accelerated away from me to opposite sides of this very long field in an instant and then changed direction again, in what appeared to be observing the parameters of this field by moving quickly across the field faster than any conventional known craft!

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Hi, at 10:30 p.m. today, 28th January 2012. I noticed 2 bright orange lights spherical in shape slightly blinking flying across the southwestern skyline.

I quickly called my fiancé out to the balcony and as she came, 2 more came from the same direction and flew along the direction of the earlier 2 and disappeared with the other 2.

We called my brother-in-law and my mother-in-law as well. These 4 were joined by three others. Going along the same line and disappearing. This event would have lasted about 5 minutes.

There was no noise coming from them. They all blinked slightly and disappeared as if they were going up into space. It was bizarre and we are still trying to figure out what it was.

Bright Orange Object Lights Up The Clouds Over Brisbane (QLD) Australia

My wife and I just saw an orange light (silently) fly in a due east to west direction over our house on the south side of Brisbane (QLD), Australia. It was on steady course, no noise, faster than a chopper, but slower than a plane. Altitude would only be 1000 feet at most.

Size would be (from our point of view) about the size of a search light. Sighting occurred at 10:00 p.m. - 10:02 p.m. 28th January 2012.

It lit up the clouds above it (it's currently raining here) but it never shifted course and remained below the clouds for the full 2 minutes we saw it.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Watched a host of orange lights in sky diagonally move across from my home in the distance moving at speed with no noise in zig zag formation almost.

Then two orange coloured lights hovered opposite my second story window within fifty foot on the roof line of my neighbors roof in Oxenden Street for about 10 minutes.

My 10 year old daughter was freaked out and kept telling me to close the window and come away as no way were they lanterns, helicopters or planes.

I was fascinated and excited at what was happened and emailed Howard Hughes the unexplained website the next day to report this.

The lights then moved at speed towards the sea and did not return. I am convinced these were UFOs.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: At around 2:30 a.m. I woke up to go to bathroom. Out my bedroom window I noticed a clear bright sky and what looked like a huge plane. I looked more closely before I went and retrieved my binoculars from down stairs.

After around taking in what I was seeing, I woke my girlfriend up to make sure we were both seeing the same thing. She just stared at the sky for 5 minutes or more. We both saw a kind of huge red and green sphere or orb rotating in a triangular motion.

It was really clear, but looked so far away. I couldn’t understand what I was seeing, was possible. I watched it for another hour and half before cloudy sky’s hampered my view. It changed shape into a circle with all sorts of bright lights bursting out of the objects I was seeing.

Also at one point, the lights seemed to light up the sky, flashing in the upper skyline with different coloured lightning, but much softer and without the thunder noise. The sky was clear, bright and the object was clear to see with my naked eye and much more clearer with my binoculars.

Orange Lights In The Night Sky Over Laezonia Pretoria South Africa

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I am from Laezonia, it falls under Pretoria. A minute or two after New Year we saw orange lights in the sky, the one was by it self and the other had three lights in the shape of a triangle, the triangle just stood still for a while and then slowly moved away and disappeared while the single light moved away at a constant speed and disappeared.

It was very bizarre and strange.

I understand that many people seem to think these are Chinese lanterns, but it is impossible as those lanterns are always moving and this triangle was steadily hovering for a long time.

We are on a plot and were having a New Years party and all went outside to see the fireworks at midnight, to our dismay there were only a few on the other side to where we sighted these lights.

They were also not high up in the sky, we could see the lights very clearly and low down.

I have several witnesses who watched this with me.

Hi, I read you post at http://the-v-factor-paranormal.blogspot.com/ (in fact I was searching for the same). I'm from UAE (GMT +4:00). Yesterday night (27th January, between 00:30 to 00:40) we saw exactly the same which you described in your post.

Big amber color ball, at least 10 times bigger than a star we see, moving in the sky. We saw it exactly above the Arabian sea. I was driving, it was feeling like someone was flying a kite with flaming material (we use to see in our native place in India).

It was not sky-high, and was impossible for someone to fly a kite in the middle of the sea (in 12 c). It was quite, fascinating! We saw it for maximum of 1 minutes. When I got down to see it properly and take a picture, it was disappeared. We really don't know how and when it disappeared.

We are damn sure it was something that we've never seen before. It was not an aeroplane. We drove many kilometers after that to find it, but we could not find it.

Orange Lights Seen On Different Dates Over Brackenfell Cape Town South Africa

Good day, one evening in March 2011 my husband called me outside to come and look at these funny bright orange lights that looked like lanterns hanging in the sky. There were 3 of them and they came out of different directions and flew into one direction almost forming a triangle.

First the one stopped like it was waiting for the others. When they all reached each other they just disappeared. I contacted our local radio station to report the sighting and they made a joke and asked me if we have been eating “special cookies”.

Again on New Year’s 2011 we were waiting for the clock to strike 12 and my husband shot off a flare or two. As we were watching flares out of different areas, these bright lights appeared again only this time there were 5.

Last night (24/01/2012) there were another sighting in Brackenfell area, only this time it was a friend of mine who has put it on Facebook.

Could you please let me know what this could be.

Bright Red/Orange Lights Spotted From Kraaifontein Cape Town South Africa

A resident of Kraaifontein has seen them twice on different occasions. I cannot remember the exact dates, but also came from the north, 3 of them. They looked like micro-light planes (but very silent), the one was slight in front of others.

As they reached almost over our house the 2 back ones hovered for a while and the front one made a left turn and disappeared into thin air. and the others followed just as fast.

That was at about between 21h00 and 22h00 in December 2011.

Silent Orange Object With A Belt Of Red Lights Seen Over Centurion South Africa (Picture)

Hi Guys, this thing was not noisy and it could move forward and back which an airplane cannot. It is bizarre that it was orange and had a belt of red lights and look at it on the pictures, I called Evelyn and we just watched and the closest phone was my Nokia.

The funny part is that it looks green on camera.

I have not tried to call the military base which is close to me. The thing is the movements on this craft are 360 and fluid. At this point it was going Menlyn side.

People we are not alone on earth. All those who were at Standard bank we used to laugh at Helen, she might have been right.

Brian it happened on Friday 20/01/2012 @ 20h23 (I checked it on my DSTV) there was only one in the air close to see.

See attached pictures I called my nanny to the garden and we watched them for 10 minutes. Pity I was using my Nokia and not my Canon camera.

I mean I live in Wierdapark X2 next to the military base I and both Lanseria and or Tambo are not far from me. When the military does their dry runs we always hear from jets to cargo planes.

This thing did not have wings it was orange-ish with a belt of lights in the middle.

It was the moves that it did forward, backward sideways and how it can shot up and come down and halt in one space that was just weird. I did not even bother calling the base cause I thought if we are not being attacked why even bother.

At least my long life question of visitors from far was answered. Enjoy the pictures.

5 Lights Seen Over Queenswood Pretoria South Africa

Good afternoon, I live in Queenswood, Pretoria.

On Friday night I was relaxing near my sliding door (stay 5 stories up in a flat) when a bright star I noticed suddenly faded and disappeared. I thought this interesting but assumed it was one of those revolving satellites. Got up to look but could not see it again.

This was around 20:15. Due to this strange happening I kept glancing out the door. At 20:25 I suddenly saw a bright light coming from the north east side (came out from behind the neighboring flat which obstructs my ground level view) on Pretoria in line with the airplane fly route from or Tambo just east of the N! to Pietersburg.

I called my wife to come look as I thought it to be another satellite. As we stood watching another four lights appeared identical to the first. No sound or burn trial if it were planes or choppers or even a meteorite, we see lots of them out there, but they go down to earth.

The four lights, in formation of two each near each other was not going super fast and at first I thought it might have been flares. A plane from OR Tambo then passed overhead nearby the lights in the opposite direction so I am sure the pilot and most in the plane would have seen them.

Seemed to be the same height of the ground. The one light then moved towards the other formation and then seemed to burnout, still not burn trial but I could see it glow and fade away if it was flare why change direction to the side and up.

The front light then did the same followed by the light that was left alone. Quick fade, glow and disappear.

The formation of the other two lights then continued over the flat. We both moved to the passage on the other side of the building and also watch them fade away.

I cannot find anything about these lights, or were they really flares? But shot from what as there were no planes or anything else following the lights. A very strange unexplained occurrence.

Thought I would share the experience and maybe find out what we saw. Regards.

This one will freak you out guys, Saturday night 19:45 ish at night November 21st 2009. Above Campaomor Orihuela Costa 8 bright orange lights in a :---: formation, two on the outsides further apart, static for a minute or two.

There was no noise, no movement, and kept the formation, but moved across the sky and then one by one disappeared. Weather was light hazy cloud. They appeared in the west.

Two people saw this sighting at two different places on the same urbanization, two other people on a different urbanizations also saw two lights at the same time that very night, all whom are security guards.

Disc Shaped Object Blue With Red Orange Yellow Tail Over Gordon's Bay Western Cape South Africa

Dear Brian, I was laying down in my garden with a friend of mine, looking at the sky while we were talking. We both saw it very clearly!

The object was flying very fast (estimate at 2-3000 km/h) in a straight line from north to south, at quite a low altitude and in absolute silence.

It seemed to be a disc shape with 5 or 6 reactors turned downwards showing a beautiful 'Spielberg' blue color (like a gas stove).

There was also a comet tail at least twice the size of the object and with more red/orange/yellow color added to the blue.

I have seen what I would call UFO in the past, but this one was incredibly beautiful and so close!

I have checked the web, but so far no sign of other witness maybe it is too soon? If you find something or have an explanation, please let me know! Kind regards.

I was pretty sure it was not a shooting star or a meteorite. It seemed quite large and as it was shooting across the sky it looked like it had a tail behind it.

It disappeared behind the horizon.

Would like to know what it was and if anyone else saw it too.

I opened the window as I thought it was at first a helicopter, but there was no sound whatsoever. It shot off to the right at very high speed, so I went out my flat and onto the balcony at the back.

It was there over to my left just hovering, but changed colour to red and it then shot off diagonally into the sky. This was witnessed by my husband. I did not call anyone as I thought that people would think I was crazy.

I would just like to confirm this story, we were traveling in the car when we witnessed this.

I can absolutely without a doubt say that it was not a meteorite. When it first came into vision, it was standing still for a brief moment, 2 seconds approximately.

And then with unbelievable acceleration it shot from it’s position to a 7 o’clock angle.

We rode for about an hour after trying to see if it had landed somewhere. To no avail though.

Hi Brian, on Saturday 14 January 2012 we were having a braai at my brothers house. Me and my boyfriend were sitting outside when a bright yellow/orange object appeared in the sky.

It was flying left to right from our vantage point.

There was no sound as it glided beneath the clouds. It then began to move away from us and then disappeared. About 5 minutes later another bright yellow/orange object appeared in the sky.

It followed the same flight pattern and then disappeared

During this whole episode, I had called my brother, cousin and his girlfriend to come witness the objects. The time was about 22:30 p.m. and it was awesome.

Red Light Spotted Over Queen's Park Edinburgh Scotland (Chinese Lanterns)

Good evening, I saw something similar while driving through Edinburgh Queen's Park (Holyrood Park) last night (18 January 2012).

I entered the park at the Pollock Halls gate, and turned left at both roundabouts.

As I drove downhill, heading north west. I saw a red light in the sky with a bit of an orange tint to it.

It seemed to be a stubby vertical cylinder, very bright, possibly encased by a clear plastic globe. I say plastic because glass would have given a sharper quality to the light.

The light seemed to be slightly diffused.

It could have been a balloon, but seemed a bit large for a Chinese lantern. Chinese New Year celebrations are already under way, so a lantern is a possibility.

I was able to slow down as there was no traffic behind me, but could not stop safely until I got to the bottom of the hill, by which time it was out of my line of sight so I didn't bother. Other cars came up the hill at the same time as I went down, and they must have seen it too.

It did not appear to be moving (but remember I was driving, and had to keep checking the road).

On checking the alignment on Google Maps and Street View afterwards I could persuade myself that it may have been over Edinburgh Castle.

One other thing, as I passed Pollock Halls before entering the Park I noticed a crowd of about 30 people, probably students from the halls of residence, and I wonder now if they were looking at the same thing.

Whatever it was was large, and it seemed to be man-made. Like your original poster, I would like to know what it was too.

Hello Brian, I asked a friend who works at Edinburgh Castle. He told me that some students released 5 Chinese Lanterns at Prestonfield Hotel that night.

That is close to the Queen's Park, so what I saw was probably one of those. Sorry to have troubled you.

Strange Orange Light Over Randparkridge Johannesburg South Africa

Hi, we live in Randparkridge, Johannesburg, South Africa (West side of Johannesburg). On Sunday evening at about 8:15 p.m. we (about six people) were sitting on our veranda just after supper. My sister pointed out the strange orange light in the east just above the horizon.

At first we thought it was a landing light from an aeroplane, but the more we watched, the more we realized that it couldn’t be an aeroplanes light as it was far too orange and bit dull.

It was also moving a little too fast for an aeroplane.

It also had a strange glow about it and moved in absolute silence. The object moved in an almost exact trajectory from east horizon to west horizon and took about 4 minutes till it went out of view.

It was difficult to judge how high the object was so we could not accurately estimate the speed but from where we watched one could have held up a fifty cent piece and perhaps just covered the light.

I am a bit of amateur astronomer myself so I have seen many unusual & interesting objects in the night skies but this one has me completely stumped.

My best guess is that it was a meteorite, but the flight path just doesn’t fit anything we have seen in the past.

Moon Like Object Over Dublin Ireland

Hi Brian, I saw the exact same thing in Ireland exactly as you described it. I knew it wasn’t the moon, as this object seemed to be setting like the sun.

Also the fact that the real moon was in the sky at the time of the sighting.

It was almost as if the object had intended to look like the moon as from the distance that I was at. I could see what resembled craters of some sort, but almost hazy.

It stood still for a period of time until it gradually began to drop over the horizon. From the sounds of it, I was much closer than you had encountered. I’m an absolute skeptic when it comes to ET and conspiracy theories etc.

The experience hasn’t opened my mind, I’m sure there’s a logical explanation, but I can’t seem to tell people as what I saw was clearly not something you see every day.

Around 12 Round Orange Lights/Objects Over Forty Hall Enfield UK

Me and my family saw them last night too! There were about a dozen of them and they moved slowly across the sky. They made no noise and I got it on video. My mom believes in this stuff, and now now I'm starting to!

They were orangey and were medium in size.

Of course my neighbor saw them 1st, he is a science geek, no offense, but he saw them and ran over to get us and they were flying overhead. They were bigger than any star I've ever seen, other than the sun, but I’m not so sure it was a star!

Like I said they were moving slowly and the were at least 12 of them.

Hi, My name is (name removed) and I’m from Ennis County Clare in Ireland. It’s a smallish town of about 25,000. About 5 minutes ago I saw 1 small glowing ball of light, I got out of bed and had a look.

I thought it was a meteor, but I always thought they moved fast.

This object was moving about the speed of a plane, but it defiantly was not a plane, even though we are close to an airport. It was then followed by three more balls of light, and yes in a triangle formation.

I looked on my phone, wondering if there was a meteor shower tonight and then I came across this, which is shockingly and early close to what I’ve just seen.

I’ve been looking out for the last while and nothing else has appeared and they have long disappeared. I even went around to the front of the house saw noting.

In total I saw 4 slow moving balls of light coming from the west to the east.

Cluster Of Orange Circular Objects Moving Across The Sky At Delportshoop Area Outside Kimberley South Africa

Good evening, I don't know if I'm going crazy or what, but this time I saw a cluster of orange circular objects moving across the sky.

My mother saw about 5 of them moving together.

Round about 21:45. There was no sound coming from it moving east to west.

3 Bright Red/Orange Lights In A Triangular Formation Over Johannesburg South Africa

Hi Brian, tonight I saw three bright red/orange lights in a triangular formation. At first they didn't appear to be moving, and then they did move into a straight line and back into a triangle. Now, I don't believe in aliens and UFO's, but it makes no sense what I saw.

There were low lying clouds (overcast). I did not notice any other lights, such as landing lights or recognition lights. They weren't flares either. As they moved into a straight line, two of them seemed to almost "dance" with each other.

Almost like flying in close proximity circling each other. From the angle I was looking at them, it was safe to say they were low but definitely not aircraft or any objects on the ground. What were they?

Full Description of Event/Sighting: We were seeing some family members off after a dinner and as they left my mother sat on front porch with my wife and two kids. I was standing up in front of the stairs, it was a lovely night and as we started talking, and enjoying the lovely weather.

I looked up in the distance and saw these lights that looked like a plane at first, until they started to change colours and make erratic movements. It was moving from right to left, forwards backwards from left to right, up and down and the lights were red, blue, green, orange and white and it was also hovering from spot to spot.

We watched it for a good 10 to 15 minutes until it disappeared over the horizon and we could not see it anymore. We were stunned at what we saw. We could only come to one conclusion that it had to be something out of this world, as nothing that we could think of could have made those movement at a fanatical pace.

I tried to record it on my phone, but being night it didn’t come up, so unfortunately I have no proof, but there were 5 people outside that saw the same thing.

I told friends and acquaintances, they all thought and said we were tripping, until my brother Googled it and found that other people saw similar things on that night. So now we are quiet confident that what we saw was and had to be Alien sightings.

On 30 May 2009 at 2:15 p.m., I passed on Pearson Street, Churchlands, heading north to Innaloo (Western Australia). I saw a bright thing in the north sky, a round thing with two facing down antennas, stood still in the sky.

A few minutes later, clouds covered it. A few minutes later, I saw the thing moved fast upward, left two jet-like trails, and then I couldn't see again, because it headed to where the sun was.

What was it? I don't know, but if somebody else also saw it, maybe can inform me and from that we can conclude what it was. Sorry, I couldn't take a photo of it. Thank you.

Orange Lights West Of George Western Cape South Africa

Hi Brian, on New Years eve at about 11:30 up to 12:15 we also saw these lights. We were a few people that saw these orange lights and it was also over the Outeniqua mountains.

They appear to stand still and then start flickering and the disappeared at great speed into thin air. They were also in a tri angle, but also were in a straight line. We first saw them on the right of the Outeniqua pass. On the horizon and later more to the west of George.

The last ones was coming lower in from the west and at first we thought it was an airplane coming into land, but it was bright orange with no landing lights and also did definitely not landed. It also started flickering and the disappeared into thin air.
After all the people left our place, I was still looking for these lights UP to 2:30 but there was nothing.

I am also puzzled about it.

Hi, after reading the article in the DFA 13 January 2012 I wanted to contribute to what I saw.

On the 9 January round about 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. my father and I sat outside our Delportshoop house which is about 75km outside of Kimberley when I noticed a small circular object moving in a linear movement passed our house.

The light flashed like an indicator orange, then red as it moved passed our house. It came passed our house three times. The first time the light shone slowly and the other two times the lights flashed fast. We tried capturing it on camera, but it disappeared.

Following this, at least 3 more appeared to move in a large curving motion. First appeared as a bright orange, but dulled as flew on, but still apparent by a slight flashing on each until out of sight.

Lights Darting Around The Night Sky Over Great Parnissus Resort Cancun Mexico

I just read the post about the strange lights in the sky in Cancun and felt compelled to offer my own story. My family and I arrived in Cancun at the Great Parnissus resort in the hotel zone on 04.04.09. At approximately 9:30 p.m., after the kids (and, sadly, my wife) had already fallen asleep.

I was star gazing and taking in the beauty of the surf when what I thought was a star flew with a curved trajectory, apparently stopping in mid air, and took back off in the direction from which it came, and disappeared.

Immediately another one followed behind and virtually copied the course of the first object. Needless to say, my eyes were glued to the sky for the remainder of the night, but there were no more recurrences, at least none that I could see.

The following day at breakfast I discussed my sightings with my family, who all believed me as I've always been an avid star gazer, lover of all things aviation, and believer in UFO's. That night, luckily before the rest of the family gave in to sleep, the lights returned.

This night, however, there were many, many more of the lights in the sky. They seemed to be playing with each other, darting this way any that, many times coming to a virtual stop in the sky, and then zooming off in other directions at what appeared to be incredible speeds.

This continued for probably 20-30 minutes before they disappeared one-by-one. We stayed at the resort for a full week, but unfortunately this was the last I saw of the lights. My guess as to what they were? My gut tells me they were ultra top secret military aircraft, but I certainly can't rule out that the sightings were of an extra-terrestrial nature.

Regardless of what they actually were, they certainly were unusual and bizarre, to say the least.

9 Orange Fiery Balls Of Light Seen From Birstall Leicester England UK

Dear Brian, I came across your blog when I did a internet search "balls of light over Midlands UK New Years eve" and I thought you may like hear what I saw last night. I was watching the fireworks last night at midnight in my garden in Birstall, Leicester and I was facing south.

I then turned north and about 00:10 I saw a ball of flames, I say flames because they where not a constant light, but flickering (not flashing like a plane seen a few last night) it was quite low too low to be a plane and was travelling straight and it then disappeared.

The ball was orange and like I said flickering and way to fast to be a plane and it was silent. It cleared my field of vision in a matter of seconds, in the space of 10 - 15 minutes. I observed a total of 9 objects, all the same shape and colour at various altitudes though moving at a constant speed clearing my field of vision in about 5-7 seconds.

The objects seemed to originate from the west and move north, north easterly, but cant be accurate one appeared to go directly west to east, they had varying distances, but seem too dim out, go higher and then disappear.

They definitely were not planes, lanterns, fireworks.

I first thought they were missiles, but no trail or sound ended this theory. This is the first time I have observed something like this, but I know the difference between lanterns, planes and jets. I have even observed drones at night which also can be good show at night and I must admit it did freak me out.

So when I read your blog, I definitely had to inform you of my experience.

20 Orange Balls Of Light Traveled Over Ellesmere Port Cheshire England UK

Last night between 10:30 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. my wife and I watched and video taped as exactly 20 orange balls moved across the E/Port area. They moved from east to west and some moved faster than others as if trying to catch up to the main group.

The first sighting was of two balls, then another two, then five, then one, then two and finally eight. The five and eight seemed to change shape from following in a line to becoming a triangle to then a diamond and then to a vertical line and so on.

Hi, I came across this sight by Googling, "white circles of light over Donegal", so I've decided to report what we seen also.

White circular light moving very strangely. Myself and my fiancé were looking at Jupiter through our amateur telescope when we noticed a very bright star directly above us, much brighter than Jupiter. We instantly thought it must be the space station as we had heard it was passing over Ireland a few weeks before, but as we watched the light it started to move slowly in a southerly direction towards the horizon.

Then moved to the west slightly, then east where it stopped and started zig-zagging to the south. It then stopped for say thirty seconds or longer, then moved back east again, zig-zagged again and stopped. It then moved steadily north and out of sight.

I actually managed to track it for a moment with the telescope and it just looked like a little circle of white light, much like Jupiter but much brighter. We are both perplexed by what we saw and I would have thought I was seeing things had my fiancé not also witnessed it.

I've never seen a UFO before, and I must say it didn't sit too well with me.

Somewhere between 1986-1988 I was at home in Elsiesriver along with my brother and 2 cousins. We were aged between about 7-10. It was around Easter time and we were all lying in the same bed. My brother looked up at the window and stopped talking.

We all looked at the window and saw what appeared to be the face of a "Grey" alien as portrayed today just staring at us.

Now we had no idea what it was since we never saw anything like it on TV, movies etc., at the time, but we all agreed on what we saw and that image especially those eyes remains in my mind like it was yesterday.

We still talk about it after all this time.

Call us crazy or delusional, but I know what I saw and the chances of all 4 of us seeing the same thing at the same time is fairly slim right?

Hi, I'm a police officer and I noticed a similar flying object in Hout Bay on 21 December 2011. I was in the harbour and saw an object going up into the air in the Hangberg area at about 23h00. I thought it was a flare at first and showed it to my 2 colleagues who also thought it was a flare.

We then noticed that it had no tale and that it never arched and came down. It continued upward like an airplane lifting off traveling towards Simons town and disappeared into the clouds. It also made no real or noticeable sound or noise.

Hi Brian, we live in Alberton and at about 22H51 on Saturday night, my mom, son, wife and I where looking at some fireworks when we all saw 2 orange lights coming from a south direction towards us.

I thought it was a plane, then I seen the 2 lights were to far apart for it to be. They both turned towards the west and split up for a few seconds and then came together again, then shot up into the clouds.

After an hour or so we seen an orange light coming from the west and turning sharp to the south, over the next few hours we seen the same thing 4 times.

There was also no sound coming from the lights.

8 Bright Orange Lights Observed Over George Southern Cape South Africa

Hi there Brian, I live in George, and while walking with my son last night (4 January 2012) at 21.15 saw 8 bright orange lights moving from the north (mountains) towards the south. There was no noise, no other stars and no moon.

The lights were in two groups of 4 each, front group flew (moved) in a square and the group behind gradually moved into a triangle with three lights on the one side and one on the other. They disappeared behind a mist bank.

I contacted the local airport this morning, but they closed at 20.00hrs so of course no information.

What in heavens name was this? I just cannot stop thinking about that.This was the second sighting I had.

The first one was on a dark night at about 20:00 in October last year and a large (I could not determine the height) object in the form of a triangle with hundreds of “dimmed” lights at the side moved slowly from east to west. Real or not? Regards.

Hi Brian, glad to see others coming forward regarding these bright orange objects in the skies over Cape Town. My brother-in-law saw four or 5 of these objects over Hout Bay the other night, and I saw one in Plumstead while at my mother-in-laws anniversary.

He was there and also and witnessed it with me, and said that was similar to what he saw over Hout Bay. Unfortunately I don’t have too much details.

Not sure when first occurrence was (maybe a week prior) and my sighting was on 1 January 2012 between 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Love to know what these are, personally I don’t think its aliens, but also don’t think they were flares or any manned craft. Could be celebratory as it was that time of the year.

Dear Sir, my wife and I just witnessed an unidentified flying object in the sky over Tallaght a few moments ago. It was a bright spherical object in the sky. I assumed it was the tail light of a plane or something, but it was motionless in the sky. It was white and it started moving up and down.

Then it changed colour from white to green to red. It then shot across the sky and stopped again. It was travelling too fast to be a known plane/helicopter, and I know a plane cannot move up and down like that. Shape of Objects: The one closest to us was diamond shape.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Hi, this was my first sighting, and saw it together with my family.

First there were 4 orange lights, unblinking and bright. When they started to move, they dimmed their lights and were very, very slow. They were moving one by one, all at the same direction.

At the opposite direction, real airplanes kept flying by, so we could all see the stark difference of their speed, the color of their lights and their distance.

The last one came very near us, and moved faster than the first lights. It flew above us and it looked liked a plane, although it's shape was a diamond. This one has small blinking lights that go around it, and they were blinking in a pattern. But the orange light kept steady, un-blinking.

About the sound, I'm not sure, because sound travels upwards at night, but there was a faint hum that we couldn't tell where was coming from.

I'm sorry I couldn't describe the distance, speed and height.

Good morning Brian, on the 3^rd of January 2012 at about 20h00 I have spotted 3 of these orange glowing lights moving from north to south over the Delmas area.

These 3 objects were moving at the same speed were spread evenly apart and moved through space silently with no noise at all.

Attached are a picture of the 1^st two objects noticed.

Dear Sir, This morning 00.15 on the 1^st January 2012 I was walking outside in the park. I was listening to the fireworks and watching something else far above that was 9 reddish lights. They hovered in the distance and also moved in different directions.

I had enough time to fetch my camera and took a video. No one seems to believe me , but at least I have a video. I live in Jukskei park and saw them southeast towards Edenvale and Alberton area.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I live at Waingroves, and from my kitchen window I looked out to watch the fireworks over at Codnor. Over one big fireworks display near the church I saw a very large red orb, it was much larger than much nearer street lamps appeared to be, and it seemed to be hovering for up to two minutes before it just seemed to disappear.

Once it had gone, two small orange orbs came from roughly where it had been and very quickly crossed the sky. I presume they went into the cloud and that was it.

The two small orange orbs I could suggest were Chinese lanterns, as I’m sure many of these sightings are, but the large static red orb was different and huge, I cant imagine I was the only person to have seen it.

I mentioned this to a friend who lives in Kirkby in Ashfield today and he said that he and his lady had also seen a large red orb hovering minutes after 12:00 a.m. But after it hovered a while, it sped off at speed.

He thought it was a helicopter, but said he realized the light was too large and when it moved he thought it was too fast.

They didn't see the two small orange orbs.

So that is three of us that all saw the something strange in the sky last night at similar times. I would imagine that we are perhaps nineteen miles apart.

Bright Red/Orange Lights Spotted Over Camps Bay Cape Town South Africa

Hello, I just read the December 31, 2011 and January 1, 2012 posts from Australia, the UK, and Fourways Johannesburg. What a pleasure to have confirmation from others of the sightings of multiple bright orange lights that my wife and I saw last night between 8:40 p.m. December 31, 2011 and 12:45 am January 1, 2012 in Camps Bay, a suburb of Cape Town where we live.

We have seen these bright orange lights several times before over the past few years, but this is the first time I've visited your site to seek confirmation that we are not alone in seeing these UFOs. We were at a restaurant last night, December 31, 2011 located near the Camps Bay beach when at 8:45 p.m. my wife and I saw a bright orange light slowly passing above the beach at maybe 1,000 feet.

Then it quickly moved in a northerly direction up the coast and disappeared. It wasn't a flare, and fireworks hadn't yet started. No one else in the restaurant seemed interested. When my wife and I returned home, our house is located high up the hill in Camps Bay with sweeping views of the sea north and south, we sat on our veranda to watch the fireworks, and hopefully see the orange lights again appear.

We weren't disappointed. At 12:01, January 1, 2012 we saw another bright orange object to the north of us, just to the left of the top of Signal Hill in the direction of Cape Town's northern suburbs, which are probably 20 miles up the coast from Camps Bay.

The bright orange reddish object appeared out of nowhere and then became very bright and headed south towards Camps Bay. It was at an altitude of 3,000 to 5,000 feet. The sky was clear and filled with stars and there was perfect viewing.

I had my binoculars with me and got a clear view of this object high in the sky, and it was emitting bright orange reddish flames (similar to the flames you would see from the tail of a rocket blasting off from Cape Canaveral in Florida) and seemed to have a jelly fish halo like glow around it.

It soon turned and quickly headed north again at great speed until we could not see it anymore. Then about 45 minutes later, at 12:45 am on January 1, 2012, three more of these bright orange lights appeared in the sky just to the south of Camps Bay, and maybe two miles from the coast over the sea (there were ships passing way out on the horizon with their lights on which gave us perspective as to how close the orange object were to the coast) each one stacked above the other, with considerable distance in between them.

With my binoculars, I looked at each of these objects and all three had the same signature of the one I described earlier, bright orange reddish flames with a jelly fish (man of war) halo like glow around them. They hovered in the sky for about a minute and then quickly headed south east towards the horizon, and soon looked liked tiny far away stars until they disappeared. What a beautiful experience, and a great way to start the New Year.

On April 9th 2011 about 9:20 pm my wife, my mother- in - law and I were driving north from Camps Bay on High Level Road towards Fresnaye, and just as we rounded the corner by Ellerman House, above us to our right, and just to the left of Signal Hill, at about 700 feet altitude, my wife, who was next to me in the front seat, and I saw a very big bright orange object that was shaped like a giant coke can maybe 70 yards long, moving slowly in the sky above us. It was incredible.

We stopped the car and opened the back car door for my mother-in-law to get out and all three of us watched this bright orange object pick up pace and then at super quick speed race off into the sky above us, where it soon became a tiny dot in the sky and disappeared. Several cars passed us headed in the opposite direction towards Camps Bay and we pointed towards this incredible sight in the sky but no one bothered to stop.

Also, about three years ago in February, 2009, my wife and I were sitting on our veranda in Camps Bay and about sunset (7:00 p.m.), when the first stars show up in the sky, we saw the same bright orange light described in our sightings of December 31, 2011 and January 1, 2012, moving at fast speed from the distant horizon on the sea directly towards Camps Bay at less than 2,000 feet altitude.

As it approached Camps Bay beach, maybe a mile away, it then started to gain altitude and quickly darted north at fast speed, and remained very bright and visible, and then a second bright orange object appeared on the horizon and it followed the same path as the first towards Camps Bay beach and also a mile out darted off north to follow the first bright orange object, and then incredibly a third bright orange object followed in the same direction towards Camps Bay beach and then darted north in the same flight path as the first two.

All three of the bright orange objects could be seen heading north, one behind the other, until they disappeared. Wow!

It moved from west to east. It is orange/reddish and I've attached a picture.

I've also got a video clip from my mobile phone, but the quality is bad and I cant see any stars in the background for reference points.

Maybe space debris burning on re-entry? Has anybody seen the same object? Thanks.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was interested to read about the orange lights seen in the sky last night in Australia. I am living in Port Alfred Eastern Cape South Africa. At 8 o'clock this evening, 1st January 2012 I went to open the bedroom window which faces south and saw a bright orange light over the sea moving from west to east.

As we never see aircraft over the sea, I went to the large east facing window to watch the light. It was travelling fast and soon disappeared behind some very light cloud, within seconds I looked up and saw another orange light directly overhead, and shouted to my husband to come and watch.

This light also moved quickly and there was absolutely no sound whatsoever and once again it disappeared. Within seconds a third orange light appeared over the sea and followed the same pattern as the first.

This sighting was really strange and I did try and take a picture with my cell phone of the third light, but it seems it has not come out. I would love to hear your thoughts.

I saw it at 00:01. Me and my wife was trying to see the fireworks in Wood Green and we saw that orange light. We recorded, but we couldn't get a good image of the scene.

Additional Information and Video Footage:

It was around 23:59 when I started to record a video in my house. Me and my wife went to the garden to try to see the fireworks and we noticed an orange light fixed on the sky. First we thought that the orange light was from the BBC Radio antenna, but after a while it started to move really fast.

It couldn't be an airplane or a helicopter due the velocity and the low altitude that was flying among the clouds. It came over our house and we could see that it was a sphere made of a strong orange light and inside was possible to see something, an indistinct form.

The light blinked three maybe four times and the UFO went out of our sight.

As we are Brazilians, the language spoke in the video is in Portuguese.

Orange Colored Objects Flew Over Harringey London UK

Shape of Objects: Assumed spherical and luminous.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Heading at high speed, no deviation in direction or altitude. Altitude was just within the cloud base on a heavily overcast night. Altitude assumed to be less than 2,000 feet. Speed estimated between 500 and 700 mph. No sound of any kind.

It was on a bearing that took it through north London controlled airspace along a vector unused by any previously sighted civilian or military craft. What drew my attention to it was the lack of any navigation lights.

Any craft flying over restricted or civilian airport airspace must display navigation lights at least on port and starboard side. These were absent, as were any other form of hull lights.

As the object moved across the skyline there were no signs of engine plume or sound of turboprop, impeller, jet turbine or pulse/wave detonation drive. The single orange glow it emitted did not change as the craft crossed the sky, very odd considering the structure should have eclipsed the light as it was observed both from fore and aft angles.

This is the second sighting on a similar bearing, but I can't confirm the date or time of the prior event except that it was within 2 weeks of making this report and occurred after nightfall.

3 Bright Orange Lights In A Triangle Formation Over South Liverpool UK

I am also in South Liverpool and myself, my partner, and a neighbour saw the same 3 orange lights. But have you put the right date. This was the day before – Sunday 24th May 2009 at 22:50. Same 3 lights in a triangular formation were viewed for over 10 minutes as they hovered and slowly changed formation.

They started in a perfect straight line, moved into a triangular formation, then two moved slowly together to the right, whilst the one to left then started to separate and move off in a northeast direction. We viewed them with the naked eye and my neighbours binoculars (not sure of resolution) and took 6 photographs whilst they were close together in the triangular formation.

I have 6 photos if anyone wishes to see them (albeit that they suffer a bit with camera shake). To me when viewed through the binoculars, the 'whole' orange disc was made up of about 8 or 9 smaller circular or hexagonal lights.

They were very 'unusual' and I don't have an explanation as if they were carried in the wind, how did one move off in a different direction ? Very strange.

Hello, I just experienced the same occurrence just last night between 9:15 – 9:20 p.m. (26th May 2009)S.E suburbs of Melbourne, VIC. I was outside having a cigarette with my fiancé and all of a sudden a huge bluish greenish flash came from behind a large cloud.

It had no sound and certainly wasn't lightning as the clouds were clearing. (I could still see stars and night sky) We were in awe of this awesome coloured flash. I then went inside after waiting a few moments and my phone rang, it was my mother ringing to say did your power just go out for a moment.

I was surprised as I thought she was ringing to tell me she had seen the same thing? My power hadn't gone out and she lives' less than 5 minutes from me. I then went on Facebook and posted a comment to see if any of my friends had seen it, to my amazement an old school friend who lives a few hours away from me in the bush saw the exact same thing.

Made me wonder as to what this might have been and upon doing a little Googleing, I found a similar story from 2002 in Ohio. The very same thing. They claim it was a meteor or comet in our atmosphere. It was certainly the highlight of my night.
